Mechanical condition
Composed and solid driving feel, the T16 engine feels right, and it sounds nice through the stainless original accessory system with the muffler commonly referred to as a "shotgun" among [enthusiasts]. The power is stated as 160, but it is equipped with a standard original red box which provides a standard 185 horsepower. The gearbox and linkage are in good health with just the right amount of resistance. The chassis feels tight, and the inherent natural movement of the convertible body is minimal.
-
Interior condition
Newly upholstered seats in wonderfully soft leather by a well-reputed car upholsterer in Trollhättan, those who now sew interiors from the original spare parts inventory, adding an extra sense of newness on board. Nice dashboard with handsome and undamaged wood inserts. The owner has also installed a Blaupunkt Bremen, a DAB radio with a time-typical exterior and a modern interior; Bluetooth, USB input, and SD card reader. Good door sides and mats, the insert mats have acquired a slightly yellower hue than the bottom mat.
-
Exterior condition
Repainted after import and simultaneously graced with a new soft top. The color Ruby Red is a sought-after shade, and together with the new leather upholstery and the sleek, wider Aero 16-inch rims with polished edges, the exterior impression is especially enhanced.
-
General condition
An exceptionally fine and pleasant representative of the model in a beautiful and sought-after color combination. A particularly detailed and specific history is a major plus for brand enthusiasts.

Owner's comment
Nystad produced the Saab 900 Convertible for the USA/Canada as a 1994 model year alongside the 1993 model year for the rest of the world, as in the USA, they wanted the 1994 model year early on the last 900 OG convertibles. For the rest of the world, the pre-series of the 1994 model year for the 900 Convertible started only in July 1993. The last convertible of the 1993 model year was produced in Nystad in August 1993. The last 900 OG Convertible of the 1994 model year was produced in Nystad in September 1993.
The car's first owner was a private individual in Westwood, Massachusetts, and it was delivered by Village Saab in Acton, Massachusetts. (See more information in one of the attached files).
Looking at the timeline, it seems that roughly the following happened at the beginning of the car's life:
1993-01-12 Station Zero (the car begins production)
1993-01-12 Approved car
1993-03-10 Delivery from factory (likely boat departure to the USA)
1993-03-10 Invoiced to Saab USA
1993-04-05 Delivery to? (could be arrival at port in the USA)
1993-12-09 Delivery to dealer
1994-02-22 Delivery to customer
1994-02-28 The retail date is when the car was reported as sold by the dealer.
The first owner probably now lives in Florida (according to Google), and the car may have gone there since it looks like it was sold at auction in 2017 with Florida registration when it had an odometer reading of 59,136 miles. What happened to the car between the auction and its import to Sweden in 2021, there is no information.
