A very peculiar contraption, built using 1980s technology. It is said to be equipped with two standard 12-volt starter/lead-acid batteries that together power the electric motor. According to period advertising, the range was estimated at between 60 and 100 km per charge, depending on terrain and other external conditions.
The current owner inherited the Eloped from his father, a well-known entrepreneur and car enthusiast who owned several collector vehicles. It has been part of the family’s collection since the 1980s. The heirs have now decided to sell the electric moped and hope it will end up with someone who appreciates electric vehicles.

Mechanical condition
Equipped with a 24-volt electric motor powered by two standard 12-volt car batteries. The batteries are missing from this Eloped, but they can be easily sourced on the open market (see example image). A specially designed Berix battery charger is included.
The Eloped has been part of a collection and has not been in operation for 25 years. -
Exterior condition
Normal wear from light use and subsequent storage in a collection. The rubber gaiters over the front fork shock absorbers have dried out and cracked—primarily a cosmetic issue. There is also some damage to the seat upholstery.

A typically innovative product of the optimistic 1980s—a time when everything seemed possible. The idea was sound, but the technology of the era proved to be a limiting factor. Today, early electric vehicles are on their way to achieving cult status.
Facts about the model
Berix Svenska AB was an innovative Swedish company based in Trollhättan, founded and run by entrepreneur Leif Berix. The company became primarily known for its pioneering work in electric vehicles during the 1980s and 1990s.
Founder Leif Berix also published the magazine Elfordons-Nytt for a few years in the early 1990s. He passed away in the summer of 2023. His legacy has included some controversial aspects, gaining significant media attention when it emerged after his death that he had bequeathed a large sum of money to the Sweden Democrats.
Berix Svenska AB ceased operations in 2022.

When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
