"This is a super attractive car that has been fully renovated throughout, including the bodywork, interior, chrome trim, and a rebuilt B18 engine with upgrades. It presents very much like a PV Sport, runs and drives nicely, is inspection-exempt, and is ready to be driven and enjoyed."

Description

A Swedish-sold car with just five owners, all from the Vimmerby area. The current owner’s father purchased the car in 2008 from a local gentleman in the same village. Known ownership includes the first owner from 1961–1973, the second from 1973–2008, followed by one additional owner before it was acquired by the current family. It is also likely the car was originally registered by the supplying dealer. Based on older inspection reports and documented history, the mileage of 60,748 km is believed to be genuine.

The father and son carried out a full renovation, building the car in the style of a PV Sport. The car was stripped to bare metal, the body repaired and repainted, and new chrome fitted. The interior was fully retrimmed, including new upholstery, headliner, and carpets.

A fully rebuilt B18 engine was installed with twin SU carburettors, and the car was converted to 12V. The gearbox and rear axle were inspected and refreshed prior to installation, and any worn suspension and auxiliary components under the bonnet were replaced during the rebuild.

The project was completed around 12 years ago and has since been part of a private collection, mainly stored in a garage alongside other vehicles. It has been used for local events during the summer and regularly started to keep it in good running condition. The car received its final inspection in 2023 and is now ready to be driven and enjoyed.

Sadly, the father has passed away, and the car, along with the rest of the collection, has now been passed on to his sons.

When watching the film, you may notice a slight rubber squeaking noise. This comes from the added whitewall trims fitted over the tyres — these can easily be removed, or replaced with proper whitewall tyres if preferred.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

Easy to start, with a strong-running, smooth engine and a very clean, well-presented engine bay with many newer parts. On test drive it feels lively with good handling, no unwanted noises, strong brakes, and a smooth, easy-shifting gearbox. Sits on a nice set of 5.5-inch steel wheels with good tyres. The added rubber “whitewall” trims can easily be removed to eliminate the squeak, or replaced with proper whitewall tyres. Inspection-exempt and ready to drive — no issues to report.

  • Interior condition

Interior is super clean and tidy, with no damage — not surprising given the light use. The seats have been reupholstered, with new door cards, headliner, and specially fitted carpets. The dashboard features original, working instrumentation and gauges, along with a functioning radio. The rubber dashboard pad is in nice, undamaged condition.

  • Exterior condition

Super presentable car all round, with straight bodywork and no damage or signs of rust. Only a minor note — the left corner of the boot lid would benefit from slight alignment. Underbody is very clean and undamaged, not undersealed so everything is visible. It is fitted with a complete newer exhaust system.

Paintwork is bright and clean throughout, with just a small paint blister on the right rear wing, barely noticeable. The chrome work gleams and is free from damage. The windscreen has some light scratches and would benefit from a polish.

  • General condition

Ideal car for someone looking to enjoy it straight away, with a lot of expensive work already carried out during the renovation. Most people wouldn’t even notice that it isn’t a genuine PV Sport.
