"The car drive well is because it is maintained for the owner by a very knowledgeable mechanic with years of expertise with racing cars. Under the hood, I don't see anything that needs to be fixed; it differs slightly from the original with three Weber carbs in place of the SU and some more contemporary hoses and connectors, which are really better and safer than the originals."

Description

The owner imported the car from the USA to Sweden in 1989, registering it in 1990. It was originally yellow but underwent a repaint and renovation in the late 1990s after being in good condition from dry California. A local mechanic in Borås, with extensive motor racing experience, has been taking care of the car for the past 15 years. The owner's goal was to make the car reliable and sportier under the hood. Newer hoses and connectors were fitted, prioritizing safety and reliability over original appearance. The SU carbs were replaced with 3 Weber carbs for easier tuning, and an oil catch can was added to the oil pan. Various other upgrades were made, including the suspension and exhaust system. The underbody and engine bay are clean and well-maintained. The bodywork is solid, free of rust around the sill boxes and bonnet nose. The paintwork has held up remarkably well with a shiny finish, though there are two minor issues—a small crack in the paint under the rear driver's rear window and four small dark dots beneath the clear coat on the driver's side rear wing. The interior is clean, tidy, and complete, although there are signs of wear on the seats and deflated headrests, as well as small rips on the side trim in the boot panels. Fortunately, these issues can be easily addressed, as many parts are available for these cars.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The car starts effortlessly, aided by the addition of an electric pump, and the engine runs smoothly and harmoniously. The brakes, clutch, and gearshifts are all in good condition, ensuring a pleasant driving experience. The car has been well maintained and is exempt from inspections. It benefits from newer Koni suspension and an upgraded exhaust system, further enhancing its performance and handling. Small crack in the corner of the windscreen and older repair to oil sum.

  • Interior condition:

The interior of the car is complete, but it does exhibit signs of wear and aging, particularly on the leather seats and carpets. However, these issues can be improved by cleaning and lubricating the leather. The headrests have deflated with age, and there are some small rips in the side panels of the boot space. The door cards are slightly wrapped, as shown in the pictures. Fortunately, replacement interior parts and trim are easily accessible and affordable, should you choose to update and enhance the interior of the car.

  • Exterior condition:

The bodywork of this car is in a well kept condition, remaining straight and well-maintained. There are no visible rust issues, particularly in the known problem areas such as the sill boxes and bonnet nose. The paintwork has a nice finish, although there are minor marks and touch-ups. As mentioned, there is a small paint crack under the rear window and some marks near the driver's door, as shown in the pictures. The chrome work is impressive, and the car features great wire wheels with good tires. However, please note that no spare wheel is included with the car.

  • General condition:

The interior can be improved with leather, cleaned, and replaced carpets and door cards if desired. This is a well-kept, sturdy car that has been given a lot of attention to making it a nice drivers' car and dependable.
