Description
A recent service included a complete fluid change: coolant, brake fluid, engine oil, differential oil with friction additive, and gearbox oil. Both the air filter and oil filter were replaced, as well as the serpentine belt. New brake discs and pads were fitted all around, and the brake calipers have been freshly repainted. New shock absorbers were installed on all four corners.
The original wheels were professionally refurbished—machined and painted in the factory-correct color—and fitted with brand new tires (receipts available). The paint has been polished and treated by a professional detailing company.
Comes with two keys. Recently inspected with no remarks—ready to drive.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
Starts easily, but when cold, the engine emits a ticking sound that diminishes or disappears as it warms up (possibly a sticky lifter). During a short test drive in a residential area, the steering, clutch, gearbox, and brakes all performed well.
After replacing the rear shock absorbers, a knocking noise (bottoming out) has been noted. The correct dampers are installed and nothing appears loose, but this should be looked into.
The car has not been inspected on a lift, but visually, the vital components appear to be in good condition, and no remarks were noted during the most recent inspection. -
Interior condition
The interior is in good condition with normal wear for its age. The seats offer good comfort, and the door panels, trim, and carpets are all in nice shape. Steering wheel, controls, dashboard, and gauges function well. All electrical systems are working, including the power convertible top. The air conditioning, however, should be checked.
-
Exterior condition
The paintwork is in good condition with normal patina for its age and has recently been detailed. Glass, plastic/rubber trim, moldings, emblems, and lighting components are all in nice condition, with new main headlights installed. The wheels have been fully refurbished—machined and painted—and are fitted with new tires.
The convertible top is weather-tight, showing some signs of use. The engine bay is clean and well-kept, as is the trunk area. However, the trunk floor covering is missing, and the side and bulkhead panels were found loose. -
General condition
A car that blends both American and European influences—of the best kind. It feels solidly built, has a high-quality finish, and is in well-preserved condition, with some minor details to address. The Cobra version has all the makings of a future classic and enthusiast’s car. The combination of a convertible body and that unmistakable rumble under the hood makes it just as fitting for cruising through town as for winding country roads.

Facts about the model
Fast forward to the fourth generation, introduced in 1994. Like many other manufacturers, Ford had seen its once-bold bestsellers diluted by energy crises and safety regulations. Now, however, the trend was shifting. Automakers began looking back, drawing inspiration from their golden years. The Mustang reclaimed its classic Pony Car image—with a long hood, short rear deck, and, once again, real power under the hood.
The standard version came with a 190 hp V6. The GT featured a V8 producing 215–260 hp, while the Cobra got a 305 hp V8. Balance was, more or less, restored. The Cobra was produced in smaller numbers and remains a rare sight in Sweden.
Between 1996 and 1998, the so-called SN-95 Modular Cobra was produced, featuring a new aluminum engine. A total of 28,705 units were built, available as both coupé and convertible. The engine was a 4.6-liter V8 with dual overhead camshafts (DOHC), paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Notably, these Cobra engines were hand-assembled by two-person teams at Ford’s engine plant in Michigan.
In 1996 alone, 2,510 convertible versions were built—of which only 158 came with the Saddle leather interior, black soft top, and black paint. The base price for a convertible without options was just under $28,000 at the time. Once the option boxes were ticked, the price quickly climbed.
Starting with the 1999 model year, Generation 4 received a facelift with updated styling and even more power under the hood—but that’s another story.
