"Would you like to stand out with a classic Swedish Cab in the wonderfully beautiful Lime Yellow color? Then this is the car for you. Excellent condition to boot."

Description

Around midsummer 2007, this Saab was sold as new by Ana in Trollhättan. The car was driven for a few years by the first owner and was then traded in at Bilgruppen in Huddinge. The current owner acquired the car in the summer of 2009 and has owned it since. There was considerable driving in the early years but in recent years the car has only been used sporadically. The service program has been followed carefully and the car has been maintained to an exemplary standard throughout.

The car is equipped with the Vector package. This includes, among other things, Navigator, electric seats, leather upholstery, etc. Delivery specification can be seen under pictures. The car comes with two sets of keys and extensive documentation in the form of owner's manual, service book and various receipts.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

All technical functions are in order. The cab opens and closes smoothly. Smooth gear changes from the fine GM gearbox (manufactured by Aisin, Japan). 17-inch wheels with mounted Continental tyres. These tyres are in fair condition but are original to when the car was new (2007).

  • Interior condition

Very fine interior overall. Whole and attractive upholstery that could potentially benefit from leather treatment. This would elevate the overall impression even further.

  • Exterior condition

Very fine exterior. A very small door gap can be discerned on the left door and a few stone chips. The bumpers have only a few minor stone chips. Fine glazing, trim and light fixtures. Fine cabin. The windscreen for the seat well is present but not shown in the pictures. It has minor damage to the mesh.

  • General condition

Well-maintained and carefully preserved Convertible. A timeless Saab model that will represent a sound investment in value over time.

Facts about the model

The 9?3 Cabriolet belongs to the second generation of the Saab 9?3 (internal designation YS3F), which was built in Trollhättan from the early 2000s until 2011. The Cabriolet body was introduced early in this generation (successfully as a four-seater cabriolet with a fabric roof).

For much of this generation, Saab was owned by General Motors (GM), which influenced parts of the technical specifications and engine range until Saab's later, brief, independent period and eventual bankruptcy in 2011.

2007 model year. Four-seater cabriolet with electrically retractable soft fabric roof. Reinforced chassis to compensate for the absence of a fixed roof (stability/rigidity).
- Interior and comfort: Typical Saab focus on driver-centric cockpit, good build quality for the era, comfortable and relatively quiet cabin for a fabric-roofed cabriolet when the roof is up.
- Engines (common variants): Petrol engines in the 1.8–2.8 litre range depending on market and equipment level — common options included turbocharged 4-cylinder engines (e.g. 1.8T/2.0T variants) and in certain versions the V6 turbocharged engine (Aero specification). Diesel options were available on certain markets. Power and engine range may vary between countries/model years.
- Performance and trim levels: Trim levels ranged from comfort-oriented packages to sportier Aero versions with more powerful engines and firmer chassis. Aero specifications provided a noticeable increase in performance and more sporting driving feel.
- Safety: Saab has traditionally positioned itself on safety; the 9?3 range offered airbags, ESP (on later models) and good passive safety for its time.

Design and technical updates during the period
- During the 2000s, the 9?3 underwent several updates to front/lights, interior and electronics. Exact dates for minor facelifts may vary by market, but the mid/late 2000s saw gradual updates rather than a complete new generation.
- Electronics and infotainment improved progressively; some later 2000s models offered better audio systems, navigation and improved climate control compared to early 2000s examples.

Saab 9?3 Cabriolets from the mid-2000s, including 2007 model year examples, have a fairly loyal owner base thanks to their combination of comfort, safety and distinctly Scandinavian design philosophy. Examples in good condition with low mileage and short ownership history are appreciated by enthusiasts worldwide.
