Description
In any case, the private owner used the car very sparingly between 2003 and 2024. Every scheduled service up until 2023 was carried out by the very same dealership that originally delivered the car new. There is a notably long time span between the first and second service entries in the service book, and between 2003 and 2016 the car covered no more than 9,880 kilometers.
The current owner has had the car for less than a year, but during that time has carefully addressed a number of small details, transforming it into a particularly well-kept and appealing millennium-era Aero. Recently — somewhat unexpectedly — he managed to acquire his dream car, a BMW E28 535i, which will now receive his full attention. As a result, he is temporarily leaving the Saab camp behind.
The Aero most recently passed its inspection on April 30, 2026.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
Classic turbo surge delivered in the unmistakably satisfying Saab manner, with lively and responsive engine performance. The gearbox, brakes, and chassis all complement the driving experience perfectly. The engine bay is clean and well presented. From the catalytic converter rearwards, the car is fitted with a stainless steel exhaust system from Ferrita.
-
Interior condition
The interior is in fine, fresh condition, with supple leather that still feels soft and inviting. There is only minimal wear visible on the driver’s seat from entering and exiting the car.
The owner has taken great care to source a correct new carbon-fiber trim panel around the instrument cluster, matching the specification the car had when delivered new. The steering wheel, controls, door panels, and headliner are all in very good condition.
Somewhat surprisingly, the Saab emblem in the center of the steering wheel has been worn smooth to bare metal — although it is possible that a previous owner actually preferred the polished metallic look rather than the original colored emblem. -
Exterior condition
The exterior presents very well, featuring a fine original paint finish. The owner has also recently sourced a correct undamaged Aero side molding in the proper grey plastic finish for the left rear door. In the photographs, a black molding is fitted, but this has now been replaced with the correct grey one.
The car is fitted with excellent original Aero alloy wheels in undamaged condition, mounted with newer Pirelli Powergy tires from 2024. -
General condition
A clean, well-kept example with attention paid to the details, only showing the occasional minor imperfection, and accompanied by documentation in excellent order. This is very much how one hopes to find a final-generation 2.0-liter Aero.
