"A well-maintained 911 in good condition."

Description

In the summer of 2000, the current owner’s father purchased the Porsche, and it has remained in the family ever since. Before that, the car had spent its life in the United States, although documentation from the period prior to 2000 is missing.

The car was already fitted with 964-style bumpers when it was purchased, meaning this modification was carried out before the current family took ownership. Otherwise, the car is very well preserved and retains its original engine, original gearbox and original paintwork.

During the family’s ownership, the car has been treated as an enthusiast vehicle. It has never been driven in winter and has always been stored in a heated garage during the colder months. The car has remained largely free from rust, the paintwork is well preserved and the interior presents nicely.

The Porsche has been inspected and serviced on an almost annual basis. During the first years of ownership, servicing and maintenance were carried out privately, as the owner’s father ran a car repair workshop. Since then, the car has continued to receive regular maintenance. The exception was 2025, when it remained unused due to illness.

After more than a quarter of a century in the same family, this is a very fine and well-preserved example. Its long family ownership, original engine, original gearbox, original paintwork, sound body and careful storage make it an interesting car for anyone looking for a classic with genuine history and the right level of care.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

The engine and drivetrain perform well, and the car feels lively and responsive. The brakes operate smoothly and effectively. The function of the climate control system is uncertain, and the interior blower is not working. The clock is also inoperative.

  • Interior condition

The interior is in good condition with some signs of use; see pictures. Nothing detracts from the car’s overall impression, and the cabin presents as clean and well cared for.

  • Exterior condition

The paintwork is in good condition considering the car’s age. There are a couple of areas that have been touched up; see pictures. The underside also appears to be in good condition.

  • General condition

A well-cared-for Porsche in good usable condition. The car could be improved further by attending to the climate control system.

Facts about the model

The Porsche 911 is a true automotive legend. It was launched in 1963, initially as the 901, but the name was quickly changed after Peugeot objected to the use of three-digit model designations with a zero in the middle.

In any case, the 911 was a success from the outset. Unlike its predecessor, the 356, the 911 was not initially offered as a Cabriolet. A Targa version was introduced in September 1965, first with a removable plastic rear window, which was replaced by a fixed glass rear window a few years later.

In the autumn of 1983, the engine capacity was increased to 3.2 litres, and the model was given the Carrera name.
