It was sold new in England in February 1979. According to documentation, it was restored in 1992, when 12 years old. In 2010 the car was imported to Sweden by the current owner. He has not driven more than 100 kilometres since then, one reason being that his wife does not enjoy sitting low and on the left side as a passenger. The car has been garaged throughout, started and run to temperature every year when not a MOT year. The latest passed MOT was carried out on 28 April 2026 and the next inspection will be the last according to current regulations. The original English headlights are included.

Lively response when the engine starts, the gearbox works fine with its overdrive. The car's relatively greater height compared to earlier model years is not immediately noticeable, but many owners lower their cars to European standard height for both improved handling and appearance.

The interior is in reasonably worn and good working condition. Good headliner and door panels, left interior handle needs to be tightened. On the driver's side, the rubber reinforcement on the floor mat is worn and damaged.

The renovation and paint from the early nineties are holding up well, the car is presentable and smart, but a polish is needed after it has been standing for a time under a tarpaulin in a carport. The new chrome trim for the front and rear windows needs to be fitted. The rubber bumpers that came due to demands from the American market have been replaced with classic chrome bumpers. However, the bumper height requirement for the same market remains unchanged, hence the car's high stance. Older Pirelli tyres with good tread on original Rostyle wheels.

Fakten zum Modell
The covered shooting brake version MGB GT was introduced in 1965 and was styled by Pininfarina. With considerably more room for luggage than the open roadster, it was also more practical, but otherwise it was mainly just different springs and anti-roll bars that set it apart. The MGC was a six-cylinder version sold between 1967 and 1969, and the most potent variant was the MGB V8 – featuring the large, yet lightweight for its class aluminium V8 from Rover. Because the MGB was produced in large numbers and continued right through the 1980s, all spare parts and accessories are still available for purchase, both as original parts and newly produced aftermarket parts. The black rubber bumpers (which are actually made of polyurethane) were introduced in September 1974 and became standard with the 1975 model year. The reason for the change was new, stricter safety requirements on the American market (mainly the so-called "5 mph crash tests" from NHTSA). Since the USA was the car's absolutely most important export market, and British Leyland could not afford to manufacture two completely different bodyshells, the European and Swedish cars also received the new plastic bumpers. When the rubber bumpers were introduced, the factory was also forced to raise the car's ground clearance by approximately 25 mm so that the headlights and bumpers would be positioned at the height required by American law. This negatively affected the car's handling during the early years before the chassis was fine-tuned with anti-roll bars again for the 1977 model year. Because the changeover took place in autumn 1974, one sometimes encounters early 1974 cars (often called 1974½) that have the older chrome bumpers but have been modified with large rubber blocks, before the fully integrated black bumpers took over completely. Regardless of model year, the MGB GT is, among many enthusiasts, an appreciated sporty and relatively practical collector car with a stable value.

- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
