Beschreibung
The current owner – and his brother for one week before him – purchased the car in 2022 from its first Swedish owner.
An incorrect mileage reading recorded during an inspection in 2020 generates a red warning in the records, but this is simply due to a missing zero: 13,800 km was entered instead of 103,800 km.
The total mileage at the time of documentation was 113,640 km. The most recent approved inspection was carried out on 25 August 2025.
Teknische Daten
Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand
-
Zustand technisch
The W12 delivers the smooth, effortless response you would expect, complemented by exceptionally smooth gear changes from the transmission. The brakes and chassis both feel stable and reassuring.
-
Zustand Interieur
An inviting and well-kept interior with fine leather upholstery, thick carpets and attractive door panels. The headliner is sagging at the rear. The sunroof works well.
Not all pages in the menu system were checked, but no pixel faults were noted on the screens that were open at the time of documentation. -
Zustand Exterieur
The paintwork is consistent with the car’s age, use and mileage. Overall, it remains presentable and representative, with some marks and stone chips.
The original alloy wheels show a few minor scuffs, mainly on the right front wheel. The Nankang tyres date from 2017 and still have good tread depth.
The tailgate lock has apparently been inoperative for many years and has been supplemented with Velcro strips (!). It was already like this when the current owner bought the car. Rather undignified for a Bentley, to say the least.
It should, however, be relatively straightforward to replace, as the lock and mechanism are believed to be the same as those used on the Audi A8 and Volkswagen Phaeton. -
Zustand gesamt
The current owner intends to locate the service documentation, which is said to be available digitally.
A well-informed new owner should be able to address the minor faults, look into the preventative maintenance that enthusiasts today generally recommend for this model, and simply be mindful of the car’s overall care and upkeep.
Do that, and you are left with an enormous amount of car, luxury and motoring history for the money.

Fakten zum Modell
The Flying Spur was built on Volkswagen’s D1 platform, the same somewhat over-engineered architecture developed for Volkswagen’s own luxury flagship, the VW Phaeton. By sharing chassis architecture, air suspension and four-wheel-drive technology, Volkswagen was able to reduce development costs considerably while giving the Flying Spur an exceptionally rigid and quiet foundation.
The fascinating 6.0-litre W12 engine was a Volkswagen design. It was created by effectively combining two of Volkswagen’s narrow-angle VR6 engines around a common crankshaft. This made the engine remarkably compact, which was essential in order to accommodate both the sophisticated four-wheel-drive system and twin turbochargers beneath the bonnet.
Beneath the leather, wood trim and substantial chrome detailing were numerous components sourced from Volkswagen and Audi parts bins. The Flying Spur shared everything from climate-control architecture, window mechanisms and sensors to electronic modules and its transmission – a six-speed Tiptronic gearbox developed by ZF and calibrated by the Volkswagen Group – with models such as the VW Phaeton, Touareg and Audi A8.
When the Flying Spur was launched in 2005, demand was so strong that Bentley’s historic factory in Crewe, England, could not keep up. Volkswagen therefore temporarily moved part of the final assembly for European-market cars to its own high-tech Gläserne Manufaktur facility in Dresden, Germany.
There, the Flying Spur was assembled alongside the VW Phaeton until early 2007, when production returned to being carried out entirely in Britain.
