"A PV Sport still holds its ground among enthusiasts. An early example from the model series C with an extra fun and powerful engine wins on driving pleasure and usability in today's traffic."

Description

Sold new for 13,000 SEK in July 1962 by the Volvo dealer Bil & Traktor in Boden to a fitter named Svanborg in Buddbyn, outside the same city, the PV has stayed in Norrbotten until it found its way to its current home in Mellbystrand. Svanborg traded in his car, and in 1988, the PV was sold to Roger, who eventually sent a diligently handwritten fill-in letter asking Svanborg to answer 9 numbered questions. And he did, the letters are preserved (pictures) and come with the car. From them, we learn the car's initial history, which is nice and fun to have saved. Roger enjoyed the car with his family for many years, as it was already considered a classic car in the eighties. Gunnar from Kiruna took over the PV in 2011 and initiated the restoration to its current appearance. The current owner's father bought the car a little over a year later and worked on it to bring it to its current condition. The latest, and thus last, inspection was done on May 2, 2018

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The engine, according to the engine number, is fundamentally a late B18 generation 2 from a 144S with 115 horsepower. Whether it has the same specifications with the C-camshaft is unknown, but the exhaust manifold has the characteristic two pipes from that engine, known as 4-2-1. Furthermore, it has a B20 head, which, among other things, had more efficient valves. Much, or really all, suggests that the engine produces a higher power than the original's 90 horsepower.

  • Interior condition:

The interior is in mint condition, adorned with nice cushions, soft toys, carpets, steering wheel, and tachometer to personal taste. Likewise, the headliner and rubber mat are in fine condition; complete, clean, and neat.

  • Exterior condition:

When the current owner's father bought the PV, he had it repainted, even though the paint was fine and attractive. He wanted the paint layer to be exactly as thick as it was when the car left the factory in Lundby, Gothenburg. Besides, the car boasts a lot of extra adornments, such as bumpers, rims, and a steering wheel. A somewhat unique feature is a detachable tow hitch for the car to tow its own trailer when it was on a meet-up tour with the owner's large motorhome.

  • General condition:

Road-ready, proud, and representative. Well-known within the PV club and ready to continue the meet-up and club life for those who wish.
