"A special and well-cared-for version of Honda’s classic performance machines from the 1970s. Despite its racing pedigree, it has led a relatively calm and restrained life."

Description

This motorcycle was registered for road use in Sweden on April 17, 1979. The current owner acquired it in October 2020—a tech and vehicle enthusiast who fulfilled one of his dreams. Now it's time for the next enthusiast to take over.

At the time of purchase, the odometer reading was 74,011 km, and an additional inspection was carried out. Estimated braking deceleration was measured at 7.7 m/s². Brake check was performed on-road, with no remarks noted.

During the winter of 2020/2021, the bike received a new battery, new tires, and a full service, including oil, filter, and spark plug replacement, as well as a new air filter. The valve cover gasket was replaced, and valve clearance was adjusted. The brakes were inspected, and the brake fluid was replaced, along with the front brake fluid reservoir. The CDI unit was resealed with silicone due to poor factory sealing.

In summer 2021, charging system troubleshooting led to the replacement of the connector between the generator and regulator.

Spring 2022 brought another service, replacement of rollers and other parts in the starter clutch, and a new rotor and battery.

In spring 2023, the carburetor was overhauled—disassembled, cleaned, reassembled, and fitted with a new O-ring and adjustments/synchronization. The gear lever was also replaced.

Winter 2024 saw inspection and repair of the instrument lighting.

In summer 2024, the exhaust system was replaced with a newly manufactured 4-into-1 system.

Winter 2025 included a choke check (cable OK), inspection of spark plugs and caps (two were replaced), and a new turn signal bulb.

All work was performed by Örby MC, and all receipts are included. Also included: various manuals/literature, two sets of keys, original mirrors, newly manufactured side covers, and an extra seat with new vinyl. The bike is inspected and ready to ride.

Facts about the model

The Honda CB750 was launched in 1969 and became a trendsetter with its inline four-cylinder engine—an icon of the new era of Universal Japanese Motorcycles. It featured 67 hp and electric start. A front disc brake and rear drum brake provided modest stopping power for the time.

For the 1979 model year, a new version was introduced: the CB900F, produced until 1983. It offered 95 hp and came equipped with disc brakes both front and rear. A special edition was also released under the name Bol d'Or, named after the legendary 24-hour endurance race at the French circuit of the same name. It was a tribute to Honda’s racing victories there during the late 1970s. This version was a high-performance street machine—a true powerhouse designed for road use.
