Volkswagen Typ 3 1500 — 1962

This car was built in the first half of 1962, and it currently sold unregistered. The engine's starts and runs well and it’s rare that such good version VW Type 3 comes up for sale. It's been standing still for a long time.

När produktionen av Typ 3 startade i augusti 1961 kom den först som Sedan-modellen Notchback, följd av Variant i februari 1962. Coupé-versionen TL anlände i augusti 1965 – samtidigt hade 1600-motorn premiär. Tanken från Volkswagens sida var att coupén skulle ersätta Notchback men på flera marknader gillade man sedanen bättre och samtliga modeller levde tills produktionen lades ner 1973.
Typ 3 fick en facelift 1970 med längre front, större stötfångare och de stora bakljusen.
Bakgrunden till Typ 3 var att man efter framgångarna med Typ 1 ville utveckla modellprogrammet med en något större bil. Grundkonstruktionen med luftkyld boxermotor monterad längst bak behölls, men Typ 3 fick lite större utrymmen och var också mer bekväm att åka i. Precis som Typ 1 konstruerades bilen med en bottenplatta som karossen sedan monterades på, och fjädringen sköttes med torsionsstavar. 1,5-litersmotorn som även fanns i Typ 1 konstruerades delvis om, så att den fick lägre höjd – bland annat genom att kylfläkten flyttades. Det gjorde att man fick plats med ett litet bagageutrymme ovanpå motorn, där Typ 1 bara hade ett stuvfack bakom baksätets ryggstöd. Till skillnad från Typ 1 var motorn och bakvagnen monterade i en hjälpram som i sin tur hade gummibussningar mot karossen, vilket minskade vibrationerna och förbättrade komforten.

• At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
• During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
• ATTENTION: Many of these cars are sold without valid Swedish registration documents, as spare parts.

Important to know before placing your bids!

• Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
• When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
• If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
• If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
• Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
• For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
