Condition
-
Mechanical condition
It starts easily and runs smoothly, with plenty of power when needed. The gear shifts, clutch, and brakes work great. However, since the car has been driven less in recent years, it would be a wise investment to have a comprehensive inspection and general service performed. When the car arrived in Sweden, it underwent an extensive rust protection treatment. Although it hasn't been inspected on a lift, the undercarriage appears to be in good condition.
-
Interior condition
It is in a very well-preserved original condition, including all the additional equipment available for that time. It features a glass sunroof, air conditioning, Titanium Leather upholstery, power-operated seats and windows, a security code system, alarm, JBL audio system with a 10-disc CD changer, and an electric antenna, among other features. Everything is functional and in great condition. The rear seat is foldable as well.
-
Exterior condition
The car has its original Oxford White paintwork, which is in great condition with a glossy finish. There are some minor abrasions on the passenger-side mirror, a small scrape on the right rear, and on the rubber strip on the driver's side. These are all superficial and should be fixable without major efforts. There are a few stone chips and minimal scratches, but overall, the exterior of the car is very well-maintained and in great condition. The wheels are in good shape, and it has quality Michelin tires. The engine and trunk compartments are also in a very well-preserved original condition.
-
General condition
American cars from the 1990s are not very common here in Sweden, but here we have both an exciting model and an example in very fine original condition, with an extensive list of features. Combined with its history and low mileage, this Thunderbird becomes an intriguing classic car.

Facts about the model
Initially, it was a pure two-seater car with sports car ambitions. However, in 1958, it became a four-seater and evolved into more of a Grand Touring vehicle. In the 1960s, it even had four doors for a period of time.
Like many American cars during the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, the Thunderbird went through cycles of growth and downsizing. When the tenth generation was introduced in the late 2000s, it found a combination of sport and GT ambitions in terms of both design and features. The last Thunderbird was manufactured in Ohio in September 1997, marking the end of an era.
However, like many other automakers, Ford dusted off one of its classics around the turn of the millennium. The eleventh generation Thunderbird, paying homage to its origins, was produced from 2002 to 2005 in a two-seater version reminiscent of the first generation. In total, Ford has produced 4.2 million Thunderbirds.
