Mechanical condition
The car starts easily and runs smoothly and quietly. Everything appears to be in good working order. The underside has not been fully inspected, but from what could be seen, it looked good. There is a small damage on the plastic cover under the engine. In recent years' inspections, the condition of the car's underside has always received high praise.

The interior is in excellent condition, giving a feeling of almost being brand new. Both the seats, fabric, door panels, headliner, carpets, and dashboard are in immaculate original condition.
-
Exterior condition
The car is in excellent external condition. The paintwork is pristine and glossy, with only a few minor stone chips that the owner has touched up with a touch-up pen to prevent further damage. The chrome, glass, rubber, and plastic are all in very good condition. The wheels are also in excellent shape, without any curb damage, although the hubcaps show some signs of wear. The car is fitted with five newer tires, Michelin Energy Saver, and the spare wheel has never been used. The engine and luggage compartments are in immaculate condition, looking exceptionally well-maintained.

General condition
This is Swedish automotive history, but it is also a part of our cultural heritage. Here, we see evidence of how we once cherished and took care of our beloved cars. Purchased in cash, as a form of saving. People used to walk or cycle to work at the factory. The car was used for leisure drives, outings, and vacations. In this condition and with its history, it is a collector's car and a classic.

Facts about the model
Over the years, numerous variants and updates were introduced. When the new 740 model came out in 1984, many might have thought that the "old" 240 had reached its end. However, Volvo stepped up its game and continued to develop the 240.
Different engines, gasoline, diesel, and turbocharged, were added over time. The car was available in two, four, and five-door body styles. Various equipment variants offered sportiness and flair.
Certainly, there were more powerful cars on the market, but few could match the combination of simplicity, durability, quality, and safety found in the Volvo 240, making it a down-to-earth family car.
For the 1988 model year, the GL variant became the base model with the B230F engine featuring a catalytic converter and 116 hp. From the 1989 model year, customers could get the GL model with the GLE and GLT equipment packages.
In total, over 2.8 million Volvo 240 cars were produced, and even today, 30 years after the model was discontinued, we can still see them daily on the roads.
