Let’s first clear up the confusion surrounding the vehicle’s model designation: is it a Buick 90 Limited or a Buick Special Touring? A look in the Swedish National Archives at the original registration document lists the car as “Buick 37/90L” – details provided by the general agent at the time of the car’s original sale. The car was assigned the registration number N 4742.
In 1976, however, when then-owner Arnströmer Bil AB in Kungälv applied for re-registration, the car was referred to as a “Buick Special Touring Sedan” in their application to the County Administrative Board. So who is correct—the general agent who sold the car new in 1937, or Arnströmer Bil AB in 1976? This remains an intriguing detail for the next owner to investigate. A binder with documentation and historical records is included in the sale.
The Buick underwent restoration in the 1990s by a then-owner residing in Falun. Notes and records of the work carried out are included (see photos). The odometer shows just under 80,000 km. This cannot be guaranteed but seems plausible given its early use as an executive vehicle and the fact that it was taken off the road during the war years from 1940 to 1945. It was then returned to service in 1946 and remained in use by the first owner until 1953. After that, it was owned by a woman in Kronoberg County, and between 1958 and 1986, it was held by Arnströmer Bil AB in Kungälv. We can reasonably conclude that the car saw only limited use from 1953 onward.
The vehicle is now being sold from an estate. The late owner, who acquired the car in 2005, was a vintage car enthusiast living in Luleå. A spare wheel, jack, and warning triangle are included.

Utrustad med legendariska straight 8 motorn , även kallad Fireball 8. En rak åttacylindrig motor som tillverkades mellan 1931 och 1953 i olika konfigurationer. Startar lätt och går bra. Eftersom bilen stått stilla en period behövs en serviceöversyn. Nytt 6-volt startbatteri monterat 2025. Manuell växellåda.

Interior condition
Snyggt innertak. Hela och bra säten, en rengörande rekond skulle göra dem ännu finare. Vackert renoverad instrumentbräda och ratt utan anmärkning.

Exterior condition
Fin i lackeringen, bra skick utan att vara i nyskick. Enligt anteckningar lackerades bilen professionellt i slutet av 1990-talet i samband med renoveringen. Hela karossen kontrollerades och åtgärdades samtidigt. Utrustad med white wall diagonal Firestone däck 6.50-16", troligtvis av äldre tillverkning. Körriktningspilarna har kompletterats med extramonterade blinkerslampor fram och bak för ökad trafiksäkerhet.

In 1931, Buick introduced its straight-eight engine, known as the “Straight 8.”
Following the financial crash of 1929, Buick experienced declining sales in the early years of the 1930s. But for the 1936 model year, the company launched a completely redesigned body and styling — a move that proved to be a commercial success. The new design was the work of GM’s legendary design chief, Harley Earl.
