Description
This is a Spanish-built Land Rover, manufactured under licence by Santana Motor Company. The car was imported and came into the care of the current owner in 2022. At that time, it was serviced by Phoenix Landrovers, and some general work was carried out. Remaining issues include the alternator not always charging, the lock/door handle on the passenger door being non-functional with the inner handle detached (see photo), and the right front tyre being in poor condition. The Land Rover has the appearance of a 1974 working vehicle, showing signs of age and use. A charming Land Rover that runs but would benefit from some tidying up and attention to bring it to a higher standard. No service book is included. A set of keys is provided with the car. The odometer has most likely rolled over once.

Facts about the model
Santana Motor Company was originally founded in 1956 as “Metalúrgica de Santa Ana, S.A.” to manufacture agricultural machinery. In 1961, it began producing off-road vehicles under an official licence from Land Rover, which supplied complete so-called knock-down kits to Santana’s factory in Linares for assembly and sale under the name “Land Rover Santana.” Land Rover and Santana Motor Company ended their agreement in 1983. The newer Land Rover 110 and 90 then competed directly with Santana models for the first time in certain markets.
Santana continued to offer a more robust platform with leaf springs (instead of the coil springs found on Defender models) and heavier axles. The two companies continued to share most components and coordinate global sales in some markets, with Santana continuing to supply South America, Central America, Spain, and parts of Africa. Land Rover and Santana also had a unique relationship in other markets, including Iran. Iran was the largest automotive market in the region, and the largest in the region for Land Rover. Sanctions imposed after the Iranian Revolution prevented Land Rover from selling directly to Iran or to its long-standing partner in the country, Morattab Khodro. Parts and complete knock-down kits (CKD) were instead sold to Iran via Santana.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
