BMW Z3 M Roadster 3,2 — 1997

• Mechanical condition

  The engine has a familiar sound and character that only a sharp straight-six can deliver. The gearbox also feels reassuringly precise, and the relatively new clutch (2021, at 160,000 km) engages early and firmly. The chassis is set up for a livelier feel on winding roads and for track use. That setup, together with the wider wheels, makes the car a bit twitchy in a straight line on, for example, a rutted motorway.
  
  The owner works with engine development at Volvo and has carried out much of the servicing himself—more frequently than required. The car is equipped with steel-braided brake hoses and new 2025 Pirelli P Zeros at the front. The owner points out a couple of minor faults worth mentioning: leaking front tire valves and an inconsistent function in the door sensor that detects when the driver’s door is closed.

• Interior condition

  Nice leather seats with the usual entry wear on the left side of the driver’s seat. A previous owner installed a sound system with a subwoofer in the passenger compartment, an amplifier, and extra wiring under the trunk mat. The same owner also fitted three additional gauges and painted in black vinyl the gear lever surround (originally chrome), the center storage tray (originally red), and the parking brake button (originally chrome). The AC does not blow cold, and its button/control is slightly cracked.

• Exterior condition

  Presentable, with an exterior that certainly conveys a potent character, though there are a few minor dents and scratches to be found. The front alignment is slightly uneven after contact with the guardrail during the track day, and the owner notes a shade difference on the repainted sections—although during our documentation we had to look closely to notice it.

• General condition

  Good value in a well-used but also well-cared-for condition, offering different paths to take. Build further, keep as is, or restore to original condition. Whichever direction you choose, the Z3 M Roadster is today a true classic with a distinctly raw and unfiltered driving pleasure.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .

• At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
• During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.

Important to know before placing your bids!

• Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
• When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
• If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
• If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
• Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
• For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
