"Ongoing renovation project for the past 40 years. Lots of original parts including engine and gearbox. "Not tested". Great doner car or a brave rebuild."

Description

The Jaguar has never been registered in Sweden. It was purchased by the current owner sometime in the 1980s for the purpose of renovation. A project that was never realized. The body is ok from roofs to doors, gaps down to the wheelhouse edges of the screens. The worst rust affected parts are the the sill boxes, the bumper brackets at the front and the radiator bracket. All severely affected by rust.

But the shapes of the car remain for the necessary sheet metal work. Engine and automatic gearbox remain in the car. The rest - pretty much everything - is packed in boxes. The parts are in varying condition but have been stored indoors. The seats are partly in poor condition and with dry cracks. Fine wooden details, instruments, headlamps, cooler etc. are in good condition. The engine has plenty of oil, but the owner has not tried to roll it over. There is a complete workshop manual in English. The car is right-hand drive with automatic transmission. An interested buyer can at any time inspect the car and all parts at the owner’s house in the south of Sweden.

Facts about the model

The Jaguar S-type was originally intended to be a successor to the MK II, but the latter sold so well that it continued to be produced in parallel with its intended successor. The S-type was further built on the chassis from the Mk I / Mk II, but with the individual rear suspension from the Mk X. The model was replaced by the XJ. 25,171 S-type cars were produced during the years 1963 – 1968
