Description
This motorbike is claimed to have been purchased from the initial owner, who rode it for one season before switching to two-strokes. He sold it quickly, primarily because the engine lacked a kickstarter and had to be pushed to start. The present owner purchased it over 50 years ago and rebuilt it so that it could be started with a kickstart.
This Triumph Combi Cross has a CZ fork, a Maico-Kramer rear wheel, a Husqvarna front wheel, and an AMC gearbox with a Norton clutch. The engine had a displacement of 613 cc, AJS pistons, and twin pin cylinder heads. All of the engine's tie rods have been upgraded from aluminum to steel. Originally, the frame served as the oil reservoir, but a motocross bike strains the frame significantly, therefore a second oil tank was installed just in case. The issue was resolved with a 0.5 kg weight increase, but everything remains for those who prefer to utilize the system as it was originally designed. The moped battery has been installed.
Following these modifications, the bike competed in a number of races with no issues other than routine maintenance. The seller believes he rode in 35 to 40 elite competitions, winning several of them and setting numerous downhill records that still exist today. It excelled not only in cross country, but also in downhill and ice races, where it put all of its power down on the surface.
