Description
A white 244 GL in basic design is as Swedish as an Ikea. Uncle Sven, born in 1927, took over the car after it was owned by a family in Jämtland until 2006. It is time for a new onwer now that he is approaching the age of 96. This car has had a quiet existence and has been faithfully utilized over the years. It has been well cared for, serviced, and is constantly protected from rust.
It had not been washed at the time of the inspection, but the fine authentic original condition is still obvious. When something needed to be repaired, it was completed. Everything appears to be in working order. The sound system is newer, but the speakers are original Volvo. Towbar, auxiliary light, engine heater, and compartment switch are all included. Winter studded wheels and summer tires with metal rims are included. Original rubber protecting mats. There is an instruction book, a service book, and several receipts and inspection reports included.

Mechanical condition
The test drive was great, with only a small jerk when the engine was cold, but otherwise a smooth and uncomplicated ride. Underneath was not thoroughly inspected, but it was apparently constantly protected from corrosion. Front shock absorbers and wheel bearings are relatively new, as is the silencer.

Interior condition
A pleasant interior in well-kept and complete condition with a little patina. Would be nicer with a valet.

Exterior condition
It had not been washed at the time of inspection, but the paintwork appeared to be original. There are some stone shards and scratches, but there are no serious damaged. The rubber details are OK, however they have lost a little sheen here and there. wheels are in good shape but not in perfect condition, but the studded tires are great. A wash and polish would be recommended.

When a Volvo has had a few and enthusiastic owners, it looks like this. Of course some cleaning is required but your buying a cult car these days.

Facts about the model
Det mesta är skrivet och sagt om denna kultvagn och klassiker från Volvo. Designad av Jan Wilsgaard och en vidareutveckling av Volvo 140, som lanserades redan 1966. Modell 240 tillverkades mellan 1974 och 1993.
Under åren gjordes en mängd varianter och uppdateringar. När den nya modellen 740 kom 1984, trodde många kanske att den "gamle" modellen 240 hade gjort sitt men Volvo la in en växel till och fortsatte att utveckla även 240:an.
Under åren tillkom olika motorer, bensin, diesel och Turbo laddade. Den gjordes i två, fyra, och femdörrars karosser. Det blev olika utrustningsvarianter med sport och flärd men genuinast är kanske ändå DL/GL modellerna, en del av det svenska folkhemmet.
Från början var GL-modellen lite mer påkostad men degraderades med tiden till instegsmodellen. Från 1981 fick den B23A-motorn.
Det fanns hetare bilar på marknaden men få kunde mäta sig med kombinationen enkelhet, slitstyrka, kvalitet och säkerhet såsom Volvo 240, en jordnära familjebil.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
