Description

Much has been repaired, replaced, and renovated on this very fine Corvette, including a new camshaft, switch to aluminum cylinder heads, MSD electronic ignition system, replacement of leaf springs, wheel alignment and replacement of universal joints, new brake calipers, change of gearing to 3:08 (original included, see picture), and more. In the past year, a new electric antenna and starter motor have been replaced, and the carburetor has been overhauled. The car has been repainted. The gearbox has been renovated, and it then received a new clutch. The AC has been renovated, and a new compressor was installed. The steering box and fuel tank have been replaced. The seats have been renovated, and the convertible top was replaced a few years ago. The car got new tires in 2018. The car's beams were treated with rust protection wax in 2019. The outside of the beams that can be accessed has also received rust protection treatment in the form of epoxy and extra rust protection. Protocols and pictures are available from Rostskyddsmetoder, Vinsta. Comprehensive documentation accompanies the car, including receipts for parts and work done by previous owners.
The car's Swedish history is known. Documentation regarding the Corvette such as the workshop manual (also on USB memory) and logbook is included. The car passed the vehicle inspection on 2024-02-01.

Facts about the model

The third generation of Chevrolet's sporty Corvette emerged as a significant best-seller, despite the engines becoming progressively smaller a few years after its introduction. The Corvette C3, unveiled in 1968, was built on the same chassis as its predecessor. In 1973, a new soft plastic bumper was introduced, and the following year marked the final year for the Big Block engine option. By 1975, the catalytic converter was added, and the rear bumper began to be cast in one piece. Additionally, 1975 was the last year the C3 was available as a convertible. The production of the Corvette C3 continued until 1982.
Chief designer Bill Mitchell, drawing inspiration from the world of aquatic life, named the model "Stingray."
