Description
The owner of this car bought the car from his aunt when turned 17 years old and learnt to drive in it. The aunt had previously owned the car for 18 years earlier. Now 40 years later he still owns the car and had driven light during summer months. In the 1980´s the car was put into dry storage for many years and only driven occasionally. In 2008 the car was put back on the road and still only driven locally on nice summer days around 1000 km per year.
Most of the car has its original paint, but the left rear wing and side panel are repainted about 40 years ago. A few aged related stone chips can be found around the car and windscreen, a soft dent a few centimeters long on the door frame and side panel. Underneath the rear window near the grill has few rust dots, these are just small remarks that doesn’t distract from the car overall great condition. The paint condition is nice and has a solid under body; earlier the car had a rust prevention treatment hence why to remains in well kept. It’s fitted with new carpets and very dry and nice underneath. The interior is totally original and untouched with fantastic original seat due to its low mileage.

Interior condition
New carpets, fine upholstery, original head liner with some standard moisture stains pulls down the grade slightly.
A bit dirty in the front under the spare wheel, but no rust damaged. The front surrounding luggage space, was hand paint about 40 years ago in white color (looks ok and doesn’t distract the overall appearance) -
Exterior condition
Original paint, with some age related stone chips and small marks "see pictures". New footsteps and new white wall tires.

Facts about the model
VW Type 1, beetle or the Käfer in Germany was developed and refined for a very many years. From 1937 to 2003. Production and sales took off at the end of the 1940 century, and in the Fifties and sixties it was among the cars that were sold most in the world. 1961 is an interesting year model because then came a lot of news, happier colors and new engine, new taillights, blinkers and more. The new engine was more than 10% stronger than its predecessor and was at 34Hkr. This engine is considered the most durable of all VW engines and was used in the 1200 models which were built in Germany right up to 1978 and South America until 1996. The color of this car is called Beryllgruen L478 and is a nice light green color that only existed 1961 and 1962.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
