"This is an excellent project car, boasting a generous supply of included parts and a robust, intact floor pan that simplifies the renovation process. The body panels are in good condition, and even more promising, the engine can be turned over by hand "See Pictures"."

Description

The current owner acquired this car over 27 years ago with the intention of embarking on a renovation and rebuilding project. However, due to the demands of family life, the project never got underway. Nonetheless, the car has been diligently stored in a dry garage throughout this time, ensuring its preservation.

According to available records, the vehicle was last in traffic and underwent its last inspection in 1981, and its previous owner resided on Gotland, where the current owner purchased it in 1996. Some repair work has been performed on the floor pan and spare wheel well, along with older welding work that remains in place. The car boasts a remarkably solid chassis, providing a strong foundation for the renovation.

Furthermore, the car comes equipped with a variety of essential components, including body panels, seats, an engine, lights, bumpers, and numerous other parts that will be invaluable for the restoration process. Any missing parts required for the project can be readily obtained, either as new components or through the availability of second-hand parts in the market.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

As previously mentioned, the engine can be turned over by hand, but it requires several missing components, such as the carburetor, electrics, belts, and various parts to be complete. The engine bears the 1200cc engine code, indicating it was manufactured in September 1956. Additionally, the car includes a fitted gearbox, as evidenced by the provided pictures, along with various essential components like fuel tanks, lights, starter motor, and suspension parts, which are part of the package

  • Interior condition

The front and rear seats are in good condition, with only a few small holes. However, the headliner is in place but shows signs of damage and wear. The remainder of the interior will need replacing, as indicated in the provided pictures.

  • Exterior condition

The bodywork, despite being dismantled, is in solid condition. It includes four wings, a bonnet, and a bootlid, all of which are also in solid shape. Additionally, there's an extra door included along with sought-after accessories like a luggage rack and tow bars, as shown in the pictures.

  • General condition

This project offers an ideal opportunity to rebuild an Oval Beetle according to your preferences, whether you opt for a faithful restoration to its original form or choose a more customized approach. The choice is entirely yours, allowing you to create a unique and personalized car to your liking.
