"Great potential as a fun summer driver without the need for connoisseur status."

Description

It was delivered new to its first owner in Italy in March 1995 and, by all indications, sold to a new owner in Germany in August of the same year. Service book stamps from Germany show it had covered 10,088 km by early 1996. The car was imported to Sweden in 2001, and its most recent approved inspection was carried out on November 13, 2002, at 89,180 km. Today, the odometer reads 123,750 km.

This suggests a total mileage of 112,370 km, with the majority of that driven by German owners between 1995 and 2001.

After being off the road for over 20 years, the car has now been brought back to life with a startup and a cosmetic reconditioning both inside and out. However, it will naturally require a thorough mechanical inspection, full service, and a passed vehicle inspection to be roadworthy again.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

The engine starts and runs cleanly after a few attempts with fresh fuel. There's a bit of smoke in the engine bay due to a leaky crankcase ventilation system, which is an easy fix. The clutch and gearbox feel solid and work well, as do the service brakes and parking brake.

  • Interior condition

Fresh velour interior that has received a much-needed detailing. Nice wood trim and detailing throughout, though the upper trim on the driver’s door shows some wear. A couple of tears are present in the sunroof headliner.

  • Exterior condition

Original paint with signs of wear. The sunroof opens and closes smoothly. There is visible damage around the rear window, the lower right door area, and a brake fluid spill on the left front fender. Otherwise, there are minor scratches and blemishes throughout. A noticeably rough and somewhat careless repair is visible under the front right sill.

Original Minilite-style alloy wheels are fitted with older Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires.

  • General condition

A patinated example with good potential to become a fun 1990s Mini from one of the many limited editions of the model. The car currently sits on a set of winter tires, which might help explain its well-used and overall worn condition.
