Description
The car was purchased by the family in 2007 as a restoration project, with the intention of building a fun enthusiast's car for the daughter. As the father is a skilled mechanic and owned his own workshop, the car was completely stripped down.
All rust was cut out and professionally welded, after which the car was sent to a highly reputable paint shop. It was first coated with epoxy primer before being repainted, and the underside was painted as well.
The restoration was completed and the car passed its roadworthiness inspection in 2012. It was then used sparingly by the family until 2021, when ownership was transferred to the daughter. However, she feels the car is not being used enough and would like to see it go to a fellow enthusiast who will appreciate and enjoy it.

Mechanical condition
The engine has been thoroughly inspected and serviced. During the restoration, the car was fitted with new brakes and other mechanical components as required. Please note that the odometer is currently inoperative.

Interior condition
The interior has been reupholstered and is in good condition. There is a small tear in the passenger seat. The headliner has also been reupholstered, but the original headliner is included and only requires cleaning should the next owner prefer to reinstall it.

The car features a professional-quality paint finish with no flaws to note. The chrome trim is also in excellent condition. It is fitted with attractive alloy wheels and a set of new tires.

Facts about the model
The Mini was produced under the BMC umbrella and sold under the Austin and Morris brands, as well as the more luxurious Wolseley and Riley versions. This practice became known as "badge engineering," as the differences were largely limited to badges, grilles, and minor trim details.
The first "Mini"—known in Sweden as the "Hundkoja" ("Doghouse")—was introduced in 1959. It was revolutionary thanks to its ingenious, space-efficient design created by Sir Alec Issigonis. His vision was to build a simple, affordable car with excellent handling, and he succeeded brilliantly.
One of the car's greatest admirers was John Cooper, who at the time ran a top-level Formula racing team. Cooper was already familiar with BMC engines through his racing cars and recognized their performance potential. He approached Alec Issigonis with the idea of creating a higher-performance Mini, but Issigonis was initially opposed. He regarded the Mini as a practical car for the masses, not a competition machine.
In 1961, however, John Cooper finally got his way. An enlarged 997 cc version of the original 850 cc engine was introduced, increasing output from 37 hp to 57 hp, and the Mini Cooper was born. In addition to the more powerful engine, it featured distinctive trim, front disc brakes, and a contrasting roof colour.
An even more sporting version followed in 1963: the Mini Cooper S 1071 cc, produced in relatively limited numbers and equipped with larger, more powerful disc brakes.
The year 1964 brought further developments with the introduction of three new engine variants: the Cooper S 1275 cc, the Cooper S 970 cc, and a more road-oriented 998 cc engine for the standard Mini Cooper. The reason for offering so many different engine sizes was the class structure used in motorsport, where cars competed according to engine displacement. Racing classes existed for engines up to 850 cc, 1,000 cc, 1,150 cc, and 1,300 cc—ensuring there was a Mini to compete in every category.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
