"Second-Generation Camaro Z28 – Pure Muscle Car Appeal Equipped with the legendary 350 LT-1 V8 producing 360 hp, this split-bumper Z28 in striking Daytona Yellow with black stripes checks all the boxes for anyone seeking an authentic American muscle car. Complete with Z28 Rallye wheels and a manual transmission, it's a true driver's machine with the looks and power to match."

Description

This Z28 has had just five registered owners since new. It was originally purchased in 1970 by a Swedish airline captain living in the U.S., who brought the car back with him to Sweden in 1974. He cherished it for 33 years until his passing in 2003. The second owner kept the car until 2016, after which it briefly passed through a car dealer and then a female owner who had it for eight months. In 2018, the current and fifth owner acquired the car and added it to his private collection.

The car has only covered 75,000 km (approximately 46,600 miles) from new. Aside from a high-quality respray in 2016 in its original Daytona Yellow with black stripes—matching its factory specification—it remains largely untouched and in highly original condition.

The 360 hp 350 LT-1 engine is fitted with headers, paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. It retains its original 12-bolt rear axle with limited-slip differential, front disc brakes, power steering, and power brakes. It also features a tilt steering wheel, a rare option on Z28s.

Inside, it boasts a very clean and original black interior. The body is unmodified—unlike many Z28s that were heavily altered for racing use. This is a car for someone who wants a genuine, well-preserved Z28, not one patched together from crashed or donor cars.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

UPDATE: The engine appears to have been replaced, likely with a block from 1977. It’s fitted with an incorrect intake manifold (non-alloy) and the wrong Holley carburetor—it should be a 780.

The engine runs fine, but there’s a noticeable leak from the left header—likely due to improperly fitted gaskets. It appears new gaskets have been installed at some point, but not correctly. The issue could be resolved by refitting the header properly or simply replacing it, which may be the easier solution. Replacement headers are readily available and not particularly expensive, so replacing both sides is a practical option. The car drives fine, with smooth gear changes and effective brakes. However, as it hasn’t been driven much in recent years, a routine service is recommended. It sits on good wheels with usable tires and is inspection-exempt.

  • Interior condition

The interior remains clean, tidy, and original. The seats are in good condition overall, with a small repair on the driver’s seat bolster and a few minor marks on the rear seat. The plastic seat-back covers show some age-related scuffs and scratches. The headliner and door cards are clean and well-kept, while the carpet is complete but slightly sun-faded. The dashboard is intact with fully functioning gauges. There is a small hole in the center console just below the radio (see photo). The driver’s side window winder is loose and will need a new retaining clip.

  • Exterior condition

The car presents well, having received a high-quality repaint in 2016. Since then, it has been used exclusively as a summer car and remains in impressive condition. The bodywork is straight with no visible signs of rust, and the underbody is clean and solid.

The paintwork is bright and glossy, with only a few minor imperfections: small scratches on the rear right wing, two paint marks on the roof, and a paint chip on the lower right panel near the door (see photos). None of these detract from the car’s overall appearance. The chrome trim all around is in a condition—bright, clean, and well-preserved.

  • General condition

This is a cool, attention-grabbing car that turns heads and sparks conversation wherever it goes. With a proper service and the header leak addressed, it’ll be ready for plenty of driving fun. Original Z28s like this are becoming increasingly hard to find—especially in such honest and largely untouched condition.
