"The car is in perfect running condition, with no faults to be found either inside or out."

Description

The car was purchased by its previous owner in 1977, who began a restoration that was never completed. The current owner acquired the car in 1991 and continued the restoration process. Skilled professionals were hired for welding, painting, and upholstery work, while much of the mechanical work, sanding, and parts of the interior were completed by the owner himself.

The restoration was completed in 1994, and since then the car has been actively displayed at shows and gatherings.

There is a documented ownership history as follows:
• 1950-09-15: AB E-J Carlström & Son Velocipedfabrik, Emmaboda
• 1952-10-01: Bank Clerk Åke Eriksson, Ålem
• 1957-12-10: Ekelunds Bil AB, Oskarshamn
• 1958-01-08: Göran Walldén, Fagerhult
• 1960-02-22: Josef Johansson, Fagerhult

• 1967-06-20: Majken Ivarsson, Blomstermåla
• 1977-03-21: Sören Lönnkvist, Bergkvara

Facts about the model

Mercedes-Benz’s first post-war design, the Type 170 S, was a more luxurious evolution of the W136 theme. On the chassis side, it featured a new front suspension with double wishbones and coil springs, as well as a larger engine. The bodywork was new but far from modern, displaying clear influences from the pre-war W153 230 model. The car was produced as a sedan and in two cabriolet variants. Despite the differences, the initial version of the 170 S retained the internal code W136.

A total of 28,764 sedan models and 2,433 cabriolets were produced.
