Description
Originally a 560 SEL, this car was converted by Trasco Bremen GmbH. It was part of a delivery of 19 identical vehicles ordered from Trasco for a hotel in Japan, where they were simply used to chauffeur exclusive guests. Eventually, one of them found its way to Germany, and in 2018 it was imported to Sweden by an owner in Stockholm. He refurbished the exterior and commissioned a new leather interior in England—investments that likely didn’t come cheap. Today, the car is owned by a dedicated Mercedes collector and has featured in the SVT series Stenbeck as the main character’s ride. Whether Stenbeck actually owned and used a Trasco 1000 SEL, however, remains unverified. The current odometer reading is 110,260 km, and the most recent approved vehicle inspection was carried out on 2025-04-24.

Interior condition
Two-tone leather interior in like-new condition, with a cozy rear passenger area featuring thick wool carpets on the floor, a sunroof, table, lights, mirrors, and... a VHS player. Its functionality is unknown, but there are at least compartments for VHS tapes behind the panel. A new Blaupunkt Bremen head unit adds a familiar, sleek retro look, complete with Bluetooth, USB, SD card, and Aux inputs. The A/C blows cold and efficiently.

Exterior condition
The previous owner treated the car to a quality paint and vinyl roof restoration, and it presents a well-maintained exterior overall. It rides on older tires with good tread, mounted on original Mercedes wheels with Trasco center caps.

The Trasco 1000 SEL is an exclusive and rare limousine based on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class W126, modified by the German company Trasco Bremen GmbH during the 1980s and 1990s. The name “1000 SEL” was not an official Mercedes designation, but rather a label used by Trasco to describe their extensively reworked versions of the 500 SEL and 560 SEL. General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
