Description
The current owner acquired the car in 2022 and has since had the seats and door panels color-restored by ColorGlo in Karlstad. New Vitour tires, size 185/70-14, have also been fitted.
The odometer currently shows 32,800 km, but according to the previous owner, the correct mileage is likely 232,800 km. The original jack, period-correct spare wheel, and tow bar are included.

Mechanical condition
Equipped with the M116, Mercedes’ 3.5-liter V8 engine featuring overhead camshafts and Bosch fuel injection. Rated power output is 200 hp. Four-speed automatic transmission.
The car is fitted with a sunroof, power steering, and air conditioning. The air conditioning is not currently functioning, but everything appears to be intact. The regular cabin fan works quietly on low settings, with a slight rattle at the highest speed. -
Interior condition
Beautifully restored original interior, carried out by ColorGlo in Karlstad. The zipper on the underside of one headrest has come undone. The sunroof slides open smoothly and quietly. Equipped with electric windows—although the rear ones need a little lubrication to glide more easily. The trunk is in good condition; there is some overspray on the inside of the trunk lid from the repaint. See photos.

Exterior condition
Nice older repaint, likely done in the 1990s. The paint is in good condition, consistent with its age. There are a few small blemishes visible on the left front fender. Paint has flaked off along the lower edge under the left sill, which should be easy to fix. The left rear jack point has a small dent—see photos. Tires with white sidewalls were fitted in 2024. Chrome and brightwork are in very good used condition.

Nice oldtimer Mercedes in the longer version, finished in the most elegant color—champagne. It’s in good condition with only minor blemishes.

Facts about the model
In November 1967, the 250 and 300 models were replaced by the 280 S and 280 SE. At the same time, the 280 SEL was introduced, featuring the longer body from the 300 SEL. In March 1971, the 280 SE 3.5 and 280 SEL 3.5 joined the range, equipped with a V8 engine.
By the time production ended in September 1972, Mercedes had built 359,791 units of the W108 series.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
