Description
In total, it has had four owners, with the current owner purchasing it last year. Since then, the cabriolet top was replaced with a good used one, and the car was mechanically reviewed, including the installation of platinum spark plugs, as required for these engines.
The car is in good running condition and presents well. However, no hardtop is included, and it is fitted with non-standard alloy wheels. The service book is missing.

Mechanical condition
Starts easily with a smooth engine, proper gear shifts, strong brakes, and good handling. No warning lights, and all electrics work, including windows, mirrors, seats, and the aftermarket radio. The electric roof functions but may need a light push to lock. Includes rear lights and extras in the boot. Tidy engine bay, with the soundproof cover removed due to wear. Inspected until 2025-05-31 and ready to drive home.

Interior condition
Interior is complete and clean, with good leather seats showing no damage, only minor wear on the driver’s seat bolster. All gauges work, and the dashboard is undamaged. Door cards and carpets are in good condition, though the rear carpet behind the seats and in the boot has a few marks. The soft top fits well, with no holes, just minor signs of wear (see pictures).

Exterior condition
The bodywork is in good condition, with straight panels and no visible rust. The underbody is clean, with only light surface rust—a new underbody seal is recommended for future protection. The paintwork is clean with a good finish, though the front and rear bumpers have marks and scratches that would benefit from repainting. The front right lower plastic grille is loose and just needs a new clip.

General condition
A solid and very usable 500SL, ready to be enjoyed as is or easily improved with repainted bumpers in the future. A lot of car for the same price as a good Volvo Amazon.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
