Description
The Nissan 300ZX was produced in two generations between 1983 and 2000 and is part of the legendary Z-series, which began with the Datsun 240Z. This particular car was brought to Sweden as part of a household move from Canada. The current owner purchased it in 1989 from a company called Bil och Truck in Hudiksvall, which no longer exists.
With 50 years of experience working in the automotive industry as a parts manager, the owner has had access to a workshop and has been able to take excellent care of the car. Over the years, the timing belts have been replaced four times, primarily due to age rather than wear. Oil and filters have been changed almost annually.
The headliner was replaced due to cracking and is now upholstered in leather rather than the original vinyl/plastic. The radio has also been replaced, but the original unit is included separately. The left control arm has been replaced as well, and the car has previously been rust-proofed and still appears to be in good condition.
It passed its technical inspection (Bilprovningen) in April 2025.
Included with the car are four original steel wheels with old tires and matching hubcaps, as well as two sets of keys. There is no service book.

Mechanical condition
Starts easily. The engine and drivetrain run and sound good. The braking system functions as it should. According to the owner, all auxiliary systems are working properly, except for the fuel gauge, which may be unreliable.

Interior condition
The interior is in good condition with some signs of age—see photos. There is a small hole in the upholstery of the left front seat (see photo). The headliner has been reupholstered in leather. The targa glass panels are in good shape and intact.

Exterior condition
As far as I can tell, the car is still in its original paint. There are a few small stone chips, a minor area of clear coat peel, and a touch-up on the corner of the left rear fender—see photo. Overall, the exterior is in typical used condition.

General condition
The car makes a very strong overall impression—an excellent example of a rare model. Inspected and road-ready.

The Nissan 300ZX is an interesting and important model in Nissan’s sports car history. It was introduced as the first generation of Z-cars under the Nissan name and was also the first Z-car to carry the "ZX" designation, marking a new era compared to its predecessors—the Datsun 240Z, 260Z, and 280ZX.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
