"Very nice Volvo that runs excellently and is well-maintained both inside and out. Inspected until 2026-04-30 and ready to drive."

Description

The car was purchased new in 1992 and driven by the same owner until 1998, when he passed away. After that, it was stored in the widow's garage until 2017, when an employee of Volvo tipped off an acquaintance about the car. This acquaintance bought the car, which had barely driven 9,000 kilometers. He sold it after a year to a person in Malmö who drove the car about 600 kilometers. It then had a new owner in Stockholm. He drove approximately 1,600 summer kilometers since buying the car in 2017, when the odometer was at 11,250 kilometers.
The current owner bought the car in the summer of 2020 and has driven it sparingly at their summer place on Öland; it has now rolled 11,565 kilometers and is newly inspected.

Facts about the model

The Volvo 850 GLT was a performance car. Its engine was an inline-five with a 2.5-liter cylinder volume. With dual overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder, and a high compression ratio of 10.5:1, it produced 170 horsepower. The GLT model accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds and had a top speed of 212 kilometers per hour.

When the Volvo 850 was introduced on June 11, 1991, it marked significant changes from previous models. The major novelty, and perhaps a surprise for dedicated Volvo owners, was the front-wheel drive and transversely mounted five-cylinder engine. It also featured a semi-rigid so-called "delta link" rear axle.
