Description
The current owner inherited the car from his father, who had a large collection of cars when he died a few years ago. His father's favorite car was the Rover, which he purchased in 2005 from a previous owner in Sweden.
Marco Spiniello purchased the Rover in the summer of 1995 from La Modecar, a Rover dealership in Carpi, Italy. The car remained in the Spiniello family until 2002, when it was traded to a Citroen salesman in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, where the family had relocated. When a Swede returned to Gothenburg in 2003, he purchased the Rover and imported it to Sweden.
From 2005, when the father purchased the car, it was driven sparingly for several years before being parked in a garage in 2007 and remaining there ever since, except for a couple of times a year when it was started and driven. The car has been driven 120 kilometers since the last inspection by the father in 2013.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
Both the engine and the gearbox are in good working order, with no noise or leakage. The brakes have been inspected, lubricated, and are in good working order. The tires have been replaced since September 2020 and the wheels are in good condition. In autumn 2020, the car received a service that included new spark plugs, a new oil and air filter, and new fresh oil. In autumn 2020, it was also given a new battery.
-
Interior condition
The leather upholstery has been lubricated and well, most recently when the car was reconditioned last autumn. The headliner, inside doors, and floor mats are all in excellent condition. All of the instruments are in good working order. The car windows are in good shape, and the back windows have a dark tone to them. In the trunk, there is a very spare wheel.
The only disappointment is that the panel over the dashboard is loose, which appears to be a common occurrence on Rovers, it should be easy to fix with a good glue and some force. -
Exterior condition
The body is in good condition, no rust and no dents. The wheel housing also has no rust infestations. The original paint is in fine working condition but with some scratches. All chrome and mouldings are in good condition. The car was reconditioned at a car dealership in November 2020.
There is a crack - probably caused by a stone chip - on the front left blinker glass. -
General condition
The car has been cared for very well for the last 15 years and has not been driven in winter. It has been in a warm garage all year round. The car is in completely unrenovated original condition. Some scratches are in the paintwork and you need to fix the panel over the dashboard. If necessary, rubber parts and bushings may need to be replaced in suspensions.
Documents, service book, manual (all in Italian) and receipts are on the car. There is also a folder with service points in Italy. All inspection protocols have also been in place since the car was imported to Sweden. The car has only been driven 120 kilometres since 2013.
