Description
In 2010, it was time to bring the 323 back to life, with proper preparations made before starting it up again. The owner has run a small, reputable car workshop for many years and has done all the work himself. The most recent approved inspection was carried out on July 17, 2024.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
The engine bay has been deliberately left unwashed by the owner, preserving the original grime primarily on the valve cover and intake. When the car was brought back to life in 2010, it received a major service including a timing belt replacement. The brand’s classic inline-six delivers its familiar sound, complemented by strong brakes and a gearbox with precise gear engagement and just the right amount of resistance.
-
Interior condition
The protective seat covers were fitted by the dealer when the car was new, so the owner has hardly ever seen the original upholstery—which remains completely untouched. Otherwise, the interior is unworn and neat, as you’d expect from a low-mileage car. The mechanical sunroof operates smoothly and opens easily, both fully and in the rear tilt position.
-
Exterior condition
Original paint without damage, in a representative and attractive condition, complemented by nice chrome and glass. The high beam lenses are a bit cloudy. Original aluminum wheels show some scratches, and the tires are over 30 years old but still have good tread.
-
General condition
A one-owner car of this model with exceptionally low mileage, the correct engine, and original equipment is considered by many enthusiasts to be an especially desirable example—almost reaching unicorn status.

Facts about the model
The first 3 Series received some criticism from parts of the press for being "prone to oversteer," but owners have often dismissed this label, instead embracing the characteristic as driving pleasure—fully in line with the brand’s motto, "Freude am Fahren" (Joy of Driving).
