Description
In that year, it was purchased by a gentleman named Per-Olov, who lived in Hällefors. According to the saved vehicle declaration, the car had just 59,150 km on the clock at the time. Per-Olov took his wife on a driving holiday down to Italy, and after that, the car was used sparingly each summer until 1999, when it was taken off the road and stored in a garage.
In 2016, Per-Olov sold the car to its current owner, who performed a major service, including replacing all fluids and filters, inspecting the brakes, and more. He also removed the protective seat covers and had the car inspected. At that point, the odometer showed 73,700 km since new—meaning the current owner has driven just 1,300 km since 2016.
Notably, all inspection records from 1989 onward have been preserved and confirm the low mileage of just 75,000 km. See the photos for a selection of documentation.
It’s also safe to say the car hasn’t been driven in winter—at least not since 1991—as the included winter tires, dated 1991 and mounted on original BMW wheels, have never been used.
The current owner is now selling the car simply due to lack of time to enjoy it, owing to work commitments. Included with the car are the spare wheel, jack, tool kit, service book, all inspection records from Bilprovningen, and four completely unused winter tires from 1991.

Mechanical condition
Equipped with a 3.5-liter inline six-cylinder engine producing a stated 218 hp, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. Starts without issue and runs smoothly during test drives. The last service was performed in 2016, so although the car has barely been driven since, it’s due for another service.

Interior condition
Very fine interior with virtually no signs of wear. Protective seat covers have been in place, preserving the seats exceptionally well. The only notable blemish is a screw hole in the gear lever console, where a mobile phone was mounted back in the 1980s. Equipped with original rubber floor mats and a functioning Blaupunkt radio. Also features heated seats and electric side mirrors. The sunroof operates smoothly and quietly.

Exterior condition
Original paintwork in good condition. There are a few scuff marks and minor door dings—see photos. Typical stone chips for the age and mileage, nothing out of the ordinary. There is a visible repair where the antenna hole used to be on the right rear quarter panel.
The car is fitted with genuine 16-inch BBS split rims, which are in good condition. The tires are dated 1989 (verified via date stamps), so replacement is recommended. -
General condition
Very strong overall impression. A future collector's car. It's rare to find low-mileage 1980s BMWs in original condition—especially with documentation to verify the mileage.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
