Description
The owner asked a bold question: how do you transform a design icon into a modern performance car without losing its classic appeal? The project began with a previously modified car featuring an upgraded engine. The goal was to preserve as much of the original visual character as possible. In collaboration with PBZ AB in Uppsala, the vision was brought to life—and the result is what you see here.
Even a trained eye may need a second glance to realize this isn't a stock example. Beneath the skin lies an entirely modern drivetrain, suspension, and engine setup. Thanks to today’s technology, the car delivers significantly more power and vastly improved drivability compared to when it was new.
To carry on the legacy, the owner opted for a modern version of the classic big block V8, reminiscent of what could originally be ordered from the factory in the ’60s. Power comes from a brand-new 502-cubic inch Mark V crate engine, known for its durability and tuning potential. The big block Chevy engine family is the most widely used in drag racing worldwide.
To give it a true modern sports car feel, the car has been equipped with an Accel electronic fuel injection system, providing instant throttle response and easy tuning. Power has been further boosted with a ProCharger centrifugal supercharger and intercooler—technology also found in high-performance models from Mercedes and Jaguar. This setup delivers a compact installation, reduced heat build-up, strong low-end torque, and a smooth power curve throughout the RPM range.
Modern Handling to Match the Power
To complement the engine’s performance, the chassis has also been extensively upgraded. Both front and rear suspension components come from a 1996 Corvette, bringing a quarter-century of engineering progress to the driving experience. The difference is immediately felt behind the wheel.

Facts about the model
1966 marked the transition from the 327 to the larger and more powerful 427 engine, solidifying the Corvette's reputation as a true muscle car and high-performance sports car.
It was also the first year that the “Corvette Sting Ray” emblems appeared on the front fenders—previously, they simply read “Corvette.” The 427 engine is visually distinctive, thanks to its dramatically domed hood.
Hidden headlights—still vacuum-operated—were one of the C2’s most iconic features, further emphasizing its bold and forward-thinking design.
