Mechanical condition
During the photography and inspection prior to sale, the car could not be properly examined underneath and the weather prevented a test drive. After being idle for a while, the car has now been serviced, roadworthy, and has passed inspection/MOT, with the latest inspection in Köping in 2021. It was easy to start and had a smooth and nice engine sound. The undercarriage was reported to be in good condition, as far as could be seen. The hood, trunk, and doors all functioned well, as did the electric convertible top.

Interior condition
Very nice and beautiful black leather interior that has recently been reupholstered. The carpets are also recent, with excellent Cadillac symbol floor mats. The instrument panel is slightly weathered but still genuine, with great controls. A newer stereo has been fitted, but the original is still in place and unplugged. Several of the electric components are operational, but the AC, power antenna, and power seats are not. The automatic dimming and Follow me home lights, as well as the electrically operated convertible top and all side windows, are fully functional. One button in the right rear has to be replaced, and it is included with the car.

Exterior condition
Nice paint, straight body with very nice chrome, but some patina on the rear bumper. Nice glass. The convertible top is intact and tight, but the rear plastic window needs fixing. The current owner has a plexiglass sheet as a “window”, which needs to be addressed. Nice hubcaps and tyres.
Clean and nice engine compartment. Lining in the trunk is missing, and new rubber seals are fitted. -
General condition
The combination of original features and well-executed updates over the years results in a nice condition, indicating that this is a classic car that will not disappoint. Despite its weight and size, this car has great driving ability, yet it may be best suited for cruising.

Facts about the model
Cadillac stod för lyx och flärd "over there" och jämfördes med europeiska lyxmärken.
Efter andra världskriget blev en Cadillac sinnebilden av den amerikanska livsstilen och en av bärarna av epitetet "Dollargrin".
Mitten och slutet av 50-talet fullkomligt exploderade det med rymddesign, krom, pastellfärger och fenor. I början av 60-talet blev det så lite rakare och stramare linjer men antydan till fenor fick hänga med även in i 60-talet.
Den dyraste och exklusivaste modellen var Eldorado. Den kom 1953 och hängde med i 50 år fram tom årsmodell 2003.
Den sjätte generationen tillverkades som årsmodeller 1963-1964. Motorerna var 390 ci om 6,4 L och 429 ci om 7,0L. Årsmodell 1964 hade en Turbo Hydramatic-400 automat med 3 steg, året innan en Hydra-Matic om fyra steg. Måtten var imposanta drygt 2 meter breda och nästan 5,7 meter i längd.
Till årsmodell 1964 blev det små designjusteringar men motorn om 429 ci om 7,0L och 345hkr tillkom, vilket gav de 2.300 kilogrammen bra knuff. I övrigt var utrustningen avancerad för den tiden och man hade en Comfort Control som skötte värme och kyla i kupén via termostatinställning. Automatisk avbländbar ljusoptik, "Follow me home" ljus, elstyrd cabriolet, elstolar, elhissar på alla sidorutor etc.
År 1964 var detta top of line och lyx som de flesta bilägare bara kunde drömma om.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
