"A very nice car that runs excellently and makes a great impression both inside and out. Inspected until 2026-08-31 and ready to drive."

Description

The car was imported from Italy in 2002 and purchased the same year by a man from Karlshamn. He drove it sparingly until 2008, when it failed inspection, and he decided to take it off the road.

The Maserati was stored in a garage until 2021, when the current owner bought it. He restored and inspected it, and since then, he has driven it very sparingly.

Facts about the model

Maserati 2.24v was a sporty luxury sedan produced by Maserati between 1988 and 1992. It was an evolution of the Maserati Biturbo, designed as a more performance-oriented and exclusive version of the Maserati 222.

History and Development
The Maserati 2.24v was introduced in 1988 as a sportier version of the 222, offering improved performance and a more aggressive design. The name "2.24v" stands for:

2 doors
2.0-liter engine
24 valves
The model was primarily aimed at the Italian market, where cars with engines over 2.0 liters were subject to high taxes. To comply with these regulations, Maserati developed a powerful 2.0-liter V6 engine with twin turbochargers, ensuring high performance despite its smaller displacement.

Design and Interior
The styling was more aggressive than the standard 222, featuring wider wheel arches, a low front spoiler, and sportier details.
16-inch alloy wheels and a lowered suspension improved handling.
The interior was luxurious, featuring premium materials such as leather and wood from renowned Italian design houses.
Driving Dynamics
The Maserati 2.24v featured a sophisticated suspension system, including adjustable Koni shock absorbers. Combined with its powerful engine, this made it an engaging and dynamic car to drive.

A Rare and Underrated Classic
Today, the Maserati 2.24v remains a relatively rare and underrated classic, appreciated by enthusiasts looking for a unique yet powerful Italian sports coupé from the late 80s and early 90s.
