A passionate enthusiast of retro 1950s and 1960s cars, the current owner saw the Opel Kapitän as a perfect fit for their collection. The car required extensive work, with the initial focus on making it mechanically sound—an investment of approximately 30,000 SEK. This was followed by a completely reupholstered interior and the installation of a retro-style Bluetooth radio, costing around 55,000 SEK.
The final stage of restoration would be addressing the bodywork and a repaint. However, as it stands, the car can be enjoyed as is, especially if used primarily during the summer months.

Mechanical condition
Starts immediately and runs and drives well, with a smooth engine, gearbox, and brakes. The engine and transmission have been fully serviced, and a completely new braking system has been installed. Other new parts include bushings, wheel bearings, a 6-volt generator, universal joints for the driveshaft, and a full set of new tires. Inspection-exempt forever and ready for its next owner.

Interior condition
Interior has been completely renovated, with all seats rebuilt with new padding and reupholstered, including the door cards. A new headliner and carpets have been fitted, along with a retro-style Bluetooth radio and speakers. The dashboard and gauges are in good condition, while the steering wheel shows typical signs of wear. The dashboard panel has been hand-painted.

Exterior condition
Bodywork will require renovation over time, with older touch-ups, blisters, and signs of filler repairs visible in various areas (see pictures). However, the body panels remain straight. The underbody appears solid, showing some older welding repairs, and has recently received a new underseal treatment. The chrome work is bright, though some trim pieces have small dents, and the bumpers have a matte finish. Older parts are included—see pictures for details.

General condition
Many major jobs have been completed under the bonnet and in the interior. The car looks better from a distance and is perfectly acceptable to drive as it is, but a full body restoration will be needed in the future.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
