Description
The current owner purchased the car from Saab in Borås, where it was originally sold to a previous customer who later regretted his purchase. The car had travelled 570 km by that point. The dream car became his, and he has cared for it ever since, only driving it on nice summer days. The total distance has only been slightly more than 40,000 km.
As a curiosity, during my undergraduate studies, I worked as an assistant to the photographer who created the international Saab sales brochures in 1986, and we lowered the cars using a wooden wedge between the body and front support arms, as well as lead bags in the tailgate. It's all for a sleek and cool photo look. The photographs were taken in Mallorca between March and May of 1986. The images on this specimen have the same stance as our photo cars, but with the addition of youthfully shorter coil springs.

Mechanical condition
Over the years, the car has been serviced more frequently than is recommended. It includes Bosch fog lights, a dual exhaust, and dual radio antennas. In his youth, the owner also lowered the car's springs, which are easily replaced with original springs today.

Interior condition
Interior in oxblood leather is stylish and newly treated. The heating control has become stuck, and the clock has stopped working. The hood covers that fit over the folded down hood have never been used, and the owner believes these auction photos were taken for the first time with them fitted.

Exterior condition
The paint, plastic, and chrome are in such good condition that it befits a low mileage car. The convertible top has a slightly worn tear in the same spot that all Saab convertibles have.

A completely original and untouched Saab classic with low mileage that is still usable and in a collector's condition.

Facts about the model
900 cabriolet gjorde avtryck i bilvärlden likt det Turbo-modellen från Trollhättans stolthet hade gjort några år tidigare. Ny rolig bil, nya kundgrupper, ny mark och en slags flärd som var ny för varumärket. Den första årsmodellen 1986 var mer eller mindre vikt för USA och det var också där en målgrupp mejslades fram utan att Saab själva egentligen hade identifierat den. Medvetna, intellektuella och lågprofilerade akademiker var bland de som själva såg sig som representativa ägare, och var det också. När SAAB stod inför nedläggning visade också olika communiitys sin lojalitet. Stilmedvetna gäng, som till exempel gaywheels.com höll SAAB högt för form, stil och individualitet, och stöttade också helhjärtat varumärket inför den sista striden.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
