According to Volvo Heritage, this 262 was one of the early models. These wheels were only available for the first half of the year. Its being sold as a project car. It has covered a distance of 200,000 kilometers (121,000 miles). When we evaluate how worn it is in many details, we believe this is accurate. It's a good car to renovate because it hasn't suffered from corrosion. Despite the fact that the engine is most likely in need of repair (we haven't looked into it further), it starts and runs unevenly. Both the brakes and the transmission are in fine working order. A Volvo B23 or a BMW six is widely utilized to replace the engine in the United States. The B23 fits well, and there are ready-made adapters for BMW's engine and transmission. The driver's side door and the panel behind it have minor parking damage, as shown in the photo. Moldings, insignia, and other distinguishing characteristics are all installed correctly. The car was not damaged in the crash.

Mechanical condition
The engine starts but runs unevenly and smokes when accelerating. Needs a repair or replacement.

Interior condition
The interior is appealing and complete, and its original design. Although there are some cracks in the dashboard, it is complete. The door panels, headliner, and back seat are all in good shape. The driver's seat is in need of repair, and the passenger seat cushion has a cracked that may be repaired.

Exterior condition
With the exception of a parking damage on the left side, the bodywork is straight and in good condition. Dust and runs in the paintwork. There is no rust damage, however if you look closely, you can detect small surface rust blisters The vinyl roof has been replaced but probably need to be redone.

General condition
This is a great renovation project. Make a fantastic original car out of it, or a naughty and tough Volvo custom car?
The buyer must register the car. All registration paperwork is provided. All tull taxes have been paid, and the car is ready for registration with the Swedish Transport Agency.

Facts about the model
Volvo 262 Bertone coupé är en av Volvos mest ovanliga modeller och den bil som samlare bedömer kommer att stiga mest i pris i framtiden. När den var ny kostade den mer än dubbelt så mycket som en vanlig 242. Modellen togs fram som en riktig exklusiv lyxbil till Volvos 50-årsjubileum 1977 och byggdes till 1981 i Italien hos Bertone i Turin( genom att Volvo sände ner byggsatser med kaross- och tekniska delar mm). Endast 6000 bilar tillverkades. De såldes framst i USA. 200 såldes nya i Sverige. Idag bedömer man att mindre än 900 st finns kvar.
