Description
The current owner has used the Bentley as an enthusiast’s driver—taking it out as a stylish and enjoyable daily car during the summer months, much like any other everyday vehicle on selected occasions. In many ways, this is the most enjoyable way to use a collector car: driving it as it was meant to be driven back then.
The most recent approved inspection was carried out on 2025-09-23.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
Heavy and confident feel in engine and power delivery—the large turbo on the already substantial engine gives the car strong performance for its size, but perhaps most of all in relation to its presence and dignity. The hydraulically controlled rear suspension, charged with the same LHM fluid as period Citroëns with hydropneumatic suspension, manages the car’s weight and intent effectively, working in tandem with the brakes within the same system—again, just like on a Citroën.
-
Interior condition
Tasteful and well-preserved, with the usual and expected entry wear on the driver’s seat backrest. Well-equipped and well cared for—you sit high and ride in quiet comfort, just as expected.
-
Exterior condition
Presentable and attractive exterior with wear consistent with the mileage. A couple of small bubbles at the lower rear wheel arches and on the rear door window trims, along with a minor dent on the right front fender and a touch-up filled scratch below the fuel cap. Nice, undamaged original wheels fitted with new and expensive OEM Avon tires. A fine detail is the untouched license plates from the time of first registration.
-
General condition
A Swedish-sold example through the official importer, not a private import with an unknown and/or mixed past. These cars hold greater value with such a well-documented history—not only in terms of provenance and peace of mind but also from a technical standpoint.

Facts about the model
The introduction of the Turbo R to the U.S. market in 1988 led to Bentley sales surpassing those of Rolls-Royce in this key market. Early Turbo R models produced just over 300 hp. Compared with the Mulsanne, the Turbo R had a chassis that was 70–80% stiffer, improving handling. The “R” indeed stands for Roadholding.
