Mechanical condition
Starts and runs quickly and smoothly in engine and drivetrain. During test driving at a calm pace on country roads in the archipelago, steering, clutch operation, gear shifting, and brakes etc. were experienced to be functioning well. Not checked on a lift, but from what could be seen, it looked good, no comments from the Vehicle Inspection.

General condition
A Saab, in a powerful special edition, with a classic color and interior combination and nearly 20 years on the road, speaks to a classic and enthusiast car in the making. A display that greets the driver with 'Welcome aboard, checking...' and 'Ready for takeoff' adds a special feeling. Since the Turbo X was produced in a limited edition and relatively few as a manual SportCombi, this is a unique opportunity.

Facts about the model
When it was launched in 2008, it was the sharpest model Saab had ever produced. Under the hood was the acclaimed 2.8-liter V6 engine. When that engine was introduced in 2006, it was named Engine of the Year. It was a GM project, initially found in Buick and Cadillac, where it was called the LP1. But when Swedish engineers, who had years of successful turbo development and manufacturing experience, contributed to its further development, the engine was re-designated LP9. It was manufactured by Holden in Australia, but the turbo unit came from Saab in Sweden. The engine was considered very potent and reliable, producing 250 hp at 5,500 rpm. For the 2008-09 model years, an additional 30 hp was added in the top versions of the 9-3 model with the LP9 engine. With an impressive torque of 400 Nm and the new XWD system (Haldex) with an electronically controlled limited-slip differential (eLSD), the TurboX had excellent road grip. Unlike the more common Aero model, the TurboX also had a stiffer sport chassis, lowered by 15 mm, more powerful performance brakes with 345 mm discs in the front and 292 mm in the rear, and fun details like the tachometer needle being orange (as in the first Saab turbo model launched in 1978, which was white in the regular Aero model). The instrument panel also informs the driver when the ignition is turned on with 'Welcome aboard' and later 'Ready for takeoff.' The TurboX also came equipped with automatic level control.
Acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 5.7 seconds, and the top speed is set at 250 km/h.
A quote from a test drive by Vi Bilägare in 2008: 'We get to test evasive maneuvers - such as swerving around an obstacle - as well as slalom driving, hairpin turns, and high-speed bends. The TurboX sticks to the track like a true race car. The four-wheel drive makes the car astonishingly stable.' A united group of automotive journalists gave the car top marks, with many claiming that the model was the ultimate road and driving machine from Saab.
