"A practical English classic in working and attractive condition."

Description

This MGB was imported and registered in Sweden in 1989. Between 1992 and 2007 it was driven in the Gothenburg area, but since then it has been located in Dalarna. The car has mainly been used for shorter leisure trips around Falun, often to the golf course, but also for outings with the grandchildren. Since arriving in Dalarna, it has always been kept in a garage, where it has been well cared for by its owner.

The owner, a former marine mechanic, enjoyed working on the car. It was important to him to keep a logbook detailing how the car performed, where he had driven that day, and what he thought needed replacing or adjusting. This “journal” comes with the car, along with inspection records, receipts for spare parts and servicing, four older tires on rims, and a set of keys.

It is also worth noting that it appears the speedometer has been fitted with a new km/h dial. According to records, SN-5227/12 is originally a miles speedometer.

Facts about the model

Excerpt from the magazine Klassiker:
"No wonder the MGB has become one of the world’s most popular collector cars. It is accessible, robust, and easy to work on. The support with parts and expert help is even better now than when it was new. And on top of that, it’s fun to drive!"

Excerpt from Wikipedia:
"The MGB was equipped with BMC’s four-cylinder B engine. This engine was essentially an enlarged version of the one used in the MGA. Displacement increased from 1622 to 1798 cc. In the autumn of 1964 it was updated with a five-bearing crankshaft. It then soldiered on unchanged until the end. Output was 95 hp for both versions, although other power ratings existed for the cars exported to the USA due to different emissions regulations. All MGBs except the V8 models were fitted with twin SU carburetors."
