Description
The car has had few owners, including one who kept it for 39 years between 1980 and 2019. More recently, it changed hands through inheritance. The current owner has simply reprioritized their collection. The plan was to participate in the Monte Carlo Rally this winter, but time will not allow it. The last inspection was carried out in 2010.
The interior remains surprisingly nice despite some flaws and would benefit from a reconditioning. In many cases, these cars with sporting ambitions have lost their original seats and steering wheels — but in this example, they’re still in place.
The Giulietta Sprint was designed by Bertone and debuted at the Turin Motor Show in April 1954. It featured a 1300 cc aluminum engine with a twin-cam head designed by Giuseppe Busso. From the very beginning, it was praised for its lively driving character and soon became a popular choice for competition use.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
A solid car in good overall condition but in need of some servicing. The engine runs unevenly until it reaches operating temperature. The brakes pull to one side under hard braking, and the clutch may occasionally slip during acceleration.
-
Interior condition
Good overall condition for regular use, with some minor scratches and wear. The driver’s seat cushion upholstery is worn, and the door panels show some waviness. The interior would benefit from a reconditioning to bring it up a notch. A set of keys is included.
-
Exterior condition
Good overall condition for regular use. Older repaint. Some rust on the front bumper. Loose trim on the hood. A few small dents that were difficult to capture in photos, along with some minor paint blemishes. Slightly porous chrome. The front license plate bracket is loose. For further details, see photos.
-
General condition
A good car that likely only needs servicing, brake repairs, and an inspection to be road-ready again. During the photo session, the car was driven without any major issues, although the brakes pulled to one side.
