Description
The car comes with extensive original documentation, verifying its remarkably low mileage of just 48,094 km, and even includes the original sales brochure.
The current owner, who worked for Saab years ago, couldn’t resist the opportunity to acquire such a fine example. Since then, the car has been lightly driven during summer months, mainly to local car events. It has always been garage-kept and carefully maintained, with only routine servicing such as fluid changes — no major repairs have ever been needed.
It has been inspected and approved by MHRF, with a valid inspection until 31 May 2026, showing no remarks or issues. The car is also road tax-exempt, making it an ideal choice for any Saab enthusiast looking for an original, well-documented example with wonderful family history.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
The car starts instantly with a bit of choke, and the engine runs smoothly with no unusual sounds. It drives well, with an easy-shifting gearbox, solid brakes, and good road handling, and has always been kept in a good running condition. The engine bay is exceptionally neat and tidy, with everything functioning as it should — even the front headlight washers — and there are no warning lights on the dashboard.
It sits on nice original wheels with good older tires, and included in the sale is a full set of Inca alloy wheels with tires, a very sought-after extra among Saab enthusiasts. -
Interior condition
The interior is in exceptionally well-preserved condition — this car has truly been cherished from new. It features beautiful velour seats all around, completely undamaged, along with clean door cards, carpets, and a tight, sag-free headliner. The dashboard is crack-free, all gauges work perfectly, and it even retains its original, fully functional Blaupunkt radio. The only minor remark is that the plastic trim under the glovebox has warped slightly.
-
Exterior condition
A super presentable car with straight, undamaged body panels and no major rust issues. The only minor remarks are a small blister on the driver’s door and a small rust hole in the boot under the spare wheel on the right corner — a common issue on these models. It also appears to have been fitted with an inner arch liner (see pictures) for added protection.
The underbody is tidy and damage-free, showing only light surface rust around the jack points. The paintwork is very clean and bright, with no standout imperfections, and only a small mark on the front corner of the bumper. -
General condition
It’s going to be hard to find a nicer example of a Saab 99 GL with this level of history and condition. An ideal car for any Saab enthusiast looking for something that’s ready to enjoy straight away.
