Description
Before its inspection in the autumn of 2025, the car underwent a thorough check and startup service, during which the fuel system was cleaned and the twin carburetors adjusted. The braking system was refurbished with new brake shoes, wheel cylinders all around, a new master cylinder, and new front brake hoses and rear brake lines. A new starter battery was also installed, and the engine oil and filter were replaced. The car passed inspection without any remarks.
The Volvo is in sound, usable condition and ready to be driven. Included with the car is some documentation, including the original purchase contract and warranty certificate — see photos.

Facts about the model
The PV544 was introduced on August 25, 1958. Unlike its predecessor, the PV444, it featured a one-piece, larger windshield; a larger rear window; bigger taillights; and a new padded dashboard with a horizontal speedometer borrowed from the Amazon. The rear seat was roomier, making the car officially a five-seater (at least on paper). It also received a new steering wheel and a redesigned steering box for lighter handling.
The 544 was offered in the Standard, Special I, and Special II versions — the latter also available with a four-speed gearbox. In addition, the U.S. engine, the B16B, became available on all markets in the new *Sport* model.
