Mechanical condition
Technically, the car is in very good condition. There are a few minor issues to address, such as adjusting the brakes and replacing the steering rack (a new rack is included). The car has been converted to 12V with a master switch, a start button, and a switch to turn off the fuel pump. It features a new battery, an electric fuel pump, and an aftermarket exhaust system.
-
Interior condition
The interior is in good condition with newly upholstered period-correct rally seats, Motolita 4-point harnesses, a sports steering wheel, period-correct gauges, and two white retro helmets. The rear seat has been reupholstered and new carpets have been installed. There is a bit of sagging in the headliner near the rear window.
-
Exterior condition
New running boards. Period-correct auxiliary lights. A few rubber seals are slightly worn. There is some visible rust on the rear fenders, but it doesn’t significantly affect the overall appearance. Otherwise, the paint and chrome are in good condition.
-
General condition
The overall impression is truly retro, and while many custom Beetles have been seen, this one is particularly special for enthusiasts of retro style, nostalgia, and historic rally/racing.

Facts about the model
Throughout its production run, approximately 196,000 Volkswagen Type 1 cars were built in Sweden between 1953 and 1973. These impressive numbers include various model variants such as the sedan and cabriolet, as well as other special versions.
It's important to remember that these production levels reflect a time when the automotive industry and its needs were different from today. The Volkswagen Type 1 not only became a reliable car model in Sweden but also a symbol of reliability and utility worldwide.
