"It's always a delightful experience to take the wheel of a nearly century-old car, and this particular one is in fantastic running condition while being meticulously maintained. It starts effortlessly, boasts a smoothly running engine, well-balanced brakes, and easier gear shifting. Over the past five years, significant restoration work has been undertaken, and it has a history of ownership by a noted Ford Model A enthusiast in Sweden."

Description

This car has a fascinating history, having been manufactured under Ford's license in Denmark in the 1930s. It's even more unique in Sweden due to its rare side-opening rear door—a feature seldom seen today. The previous owner, a prominent authority on these cars in Sweden, has a close association with it. The car spent much of its early life in the Uppsala area, where it is believed to have served as a delivery vehicle for a bakery during the early 1930s and 1940s. Its initial registration on August 17, 1931, and construction in March 1932 are interesting historical details, and it carried various registration numbers in its earlier years, such as Y8994-C7364.

This vehicle's rediscovery in a garage near Uppsala in early 2012 was a fortunate find, as it was found to be in remarkably clean and solid condition. Subsequent restoration efforts included replacing the interior with a meticulously crafted replica from the USA, along with significant mechanical work to ensure its roadworthiness. Overheating, a common issue with these cars, was effectively addressed by skimming the cylinder head and fitting a new radiator, eliminating any future overheating concerns.

In its current state, this Model A stands as a beautifully preserved, original car that offers superb reliability and an enjoyable driving experience—a true testament to its enduring quality and charm.

Condition

The previous owner invested heavily in maintenance, documented in the diary's pictures. The current owner has kept up with routine servicing, and the car is now in excellent, hassle-free, and drivable condition.

  • Interior condition

The interior received an update a decade ago with period-correct seats, mats, and door cards. All original features and instrumentation are intact and operational, with the exception of the interior heat and windscreen blower. The interior exudes a clean and inviting ambiance.

  • Exterior condition

The car's entire exterior is exceptionally clean and structurally sound, devoid of any rust problems, and boasts a well-maintained underbody. While it's challenging to confirm, the paintwork may be original?, and it has aged gracefully with age-related marks and blemishes that add to its character and historical appeal. The car sports charming spoked wheels with good tires and shinny chrome details throughout. The imitation leather roof, which appears to be original, remains intact but shows signs of aging.

  • General condition

This Model A Tudor is ideally suited to a life on the road, given its exceptional usability and ease of driving. It's meant to be enjoyed rather than sitting in a museum. The car attracts attention wherever it goes, with people frequently showing their appreciation by giving thumbs up.
